20 somethings

Hi peksita,

Yeah the scales can be a bit obsessive.

I try to only hop on maybe once mid week just to check progress but if for some reason (time of the month or similar) you end up gaining by weigh in day it can be a bit disheartening. I try to avoid as much as possible..but still hop on more than I should...particularly if I think I've overdone the syns a bit!

Weigh in on Wednesday-been away in Devon this weekend-ate out once and was sensible bur I get worried about added oils etc..anyway as it's my first week back on the wagon hopefully I'll see the scales drop a bit this Wednesday!

Fingers crossed for everyone else...onwards and erm downwards?!? Xx

Hi everyone! Can I join your group? :) I'm 24 and go to group on Wednesdays. I'm coming to the end of my third week. Lost 3.5lb in my first week, then weighed 2lb heavier the next week which was disappointing as I was on plan but it was star week, so I reckon it was water retention. My clothes feel looser and I feel like my tummy has shrunk a little bit, so hoping for a nice loss this week to make up for last week!

I know exactly what people mean about obsession with the scales, it's a real problem so I don't own any scales, I only weigh at group. Saves a lot of emotional turmoil throughout the week!

Ohhh I am so glad I dont own any scales, but sometimes I think it would be nice to kind of know what the result maybe on a sat morning lol!!!
But once I head back to the gym I will weigh there as I wont be able to help myself its not a good thing, I dont feel like am getting back on the plan too well this week, seems to be hard to decide what to eat etc, apart from the weekend blip ive been ok but it definately a head wreck this week
We can do it everyone :D

My names Jo and I'm also a serial weigher. I do it at least once in a morning and once in an evening, some days I do it very time I go for a wee!! It's obsessive and nuts I know but I just can't help it! I have tried not to buy then I panic that I can't weigh myself!! On saying that I have got better at not letting whatever the scales say effect me too much that it can effect my week of balance........ Well most of the time! :)

hahaha jo that made me laugh thats exactly what i do like a wee can make that much of a difference!
i deffinatly think the old TOTM makes a big difference but reading some things from weight watchers and slimming world say that it shouldn't effect it but i can weigh up to like 5lb heavier then i get all disheartened. so im trying not to take the scales as serious as long as i work my ass off then ino i must be doing some good. went for my first run last night it almost killed me! thing is i feel dead good now weird huh for someone who despises physical activity im starting to like it nowdays!goodluck i dream slim i bet uv done well u only ate out the once! :)

Well a really big wee could be like a half pound you never know ;)

I'm with u about TOTM I also think it makes a difference with water retention and stuff, my biggest problem is I don't get TOTM with having PCOS but do still seem to get slow times of the month weight loss wise I just never know when it's gunna be :)

Well done on your run I do think u get to a place where u start to enjoy exercise and I think it's personally as u feel like your doing some good. I'm feeling a hot frustrated on that front at the mo been laid up for 6 weeks with a bad back haven't even been to work so no running etc for me. Hoping my physio gives me the thumbs up to do some swimming!

Anyhows 2lb off for me tonight so I'm pleased :)

Im so there with the mum thing! Three weeks ago my mum came for a week, I like being able to take her out and when I'm not doing, she's cooking me the most delicious anti SW food!

I went on holiday a week after she left so spent that week thinking 'Ahh well, I'm pretty much on holiday..' then there was the holiday!

A week all inclusive In Bulgaria. But they wouldn't give out diet coke to anyone who couldn't prove they were diabetic and the salad bar was all warm and mangy.

But yeah! I'm finally back! Convinced myself I weighed less than I did and was proper depressed by a nine pound gain.. So the actual 3.5 I got doesn't seem so bad now!
Most on track I've ever had so far, so much fruit and veg. I even ate a salad today!
And check out my dinner.. A ham and cheese toastie with tonnes of fruit. That's hex a, hex b and my whole 5 a day!

Best be a good loss this week!

Hey, was wondering if i could come join you? I've been doing sw with some breaks since september i think, lost 30lbs. Could have been a lot better but tbh i'm just pleased i've lost 30lbs! I'm 24, frm the north east!
xx

Hi everyone,

I've not checked in for a while, there was a death in my family so I hadn't been to group for a fortnight but went tonight and despite having been totally off-plan and one night eating a huge indian meal and 4 chocolate bars I lost 2lbs over 3 weeks and got my stone award :)

Hi Kitteh!
I think this group is pretty much open to everyone, welcome on board. I'm also 24 but only lost 1 stone so far so am impressed with the 30lb loss!

Hope everyone's okay?
xx

What's leopards pie??? Sounds intriguing! I love a good curry especially a slimming world curry thy are miles better than the take away ones! I love the Sw scotch eggs! I don't know if you already dothis but if you coat them in smash powder then that reduces your syns/ saves your HEB

Coatin thing in smash is amazing you can do it with chicken! So you can make like chicken goujons, or do them with fish! You can even use Cous Cous but it goes super crunchy! So depends how crunchy you like it I suppose! 4 is good for a meal! I like to use syns in my meals as I don't eat snacks really like crisp or chocolate coz I'm like Pringles once I pop I jut can't stop! So I would rather just not eat them which is hard considering I have a online sweet show and market stall :(
