20 somethings

That's wonderful news! Just take things easy and relax as much as you can xxx

he's just rang from work and knew something was up so told him over the phones hes bouncing now lol, crazy thing is we weren't trying this month, i broke down half way through the month saying i didn't want it to happen this month despite ttc because i would be due on the day my angel baby (nathaniel) was born, exstaic that i am but its a big shock.

Sammy ring them when you aren't there, and if your mum doesnt have a mobile get her one so she can call you if she needs something so you can then call the nurses station. Ask if she can have nettle tea (good for water retention) then you could bring some in a flask when you see her. And ask about moon boots, they should have some on a cardiology ward, they inflate and deflate and are strapped to her legs. If they are swollen it could be poor circulation. Again, if you ask her Dr he or she will know if their use would help or hinder her. I'm no Dr and don't know her history but I had to use them when I was in.

I had no idea the normal level was so low... Now I know why they **** themselves when they took blood for my levels... And brought up a specialist and a infection control nurse... Who said my mum knew more about infections than she did!

Do you have any siblings that can help with the strain of it all?

Never heard of moon boots but will ask about them today as will be going to see her soon. She's been diagnosed with heart failure for the right side of her heart and apparently swelling and water retention can be a symptom, so maybe they will work. Don't know if my mum would drink nettle tea even if I gave it her, she's funny about that kind of stuff, but I'll ask her, thanks for that tip as I didn't know it helped with water retention. She has a mobile but never wants to bother me, she's a pain in the bum! I jeep telling her that the reason we bought a house on the same street as her was because we wanted to be there to help her if she needed it! She just always says she doesn't want to bother us. My sister is going to the evening visiting hours because they're 6:30-8 and jack goes to bed for 6:30/7 and I want to keep him in his routine, so we go from 2-4pm (though I usually get there about half past 1 to make sure I get parking and so just go on the ward early, the nurses haven't said anything to me yet!) and Kim does the evening visit. I guess I shouldn't moan doing one visit a day, but it just takes it out of me. I have to get up and get jack sorted, feed him, take to any morning playgroups we go to etc, bring him home, give him his solids and feed him and change him then pack him and everything else we need back up and out the door to the hospital, sit in queues waiting for parking, sit with mum, worry about how good/bad she looks today and what the nurses are/aren't doing right and telling them when something needs doing, I take her to the toilet when she needs it whilst I'm there and help her get changed etc. Then I bring all her washing home and get it done, plus everything I need to do myself in the house and sort jack out and then get him to bed and then get tea sorted for me and ben, there's always something to do. I know I shouldn't complain as at least I don't have to do the evening visits too, but it's just extra on what I already did and stress and worry is taking it's toll. She's thrown up the last two evenings now and they don't know why, and I have to bring her clothes that are covered in sick home to wash and dry to take back for her the next day. Sorry for being a moanie Minnie today xx

Afternoone everyone.

Have just caught up but can only pop in quickly and didn't want to leave without saying good luck Sam, hope it goes well and congratulations sweetdll, wonderful news :)

I love how you say you shouldn't moan but then go on to list 3 million things that are not easy to do. Of COURSE you can moan!

Sweet that's amazing news, I'm so pleased for you. I know it'll be hard with the due date but I'm sure your gorgeous angel baby will be looking down and saying he's really happy for mummy & daddy.

My scales are showing back down to what I was before my 3lb gain, hope I can keep it off till Monday. Nursing a hell of a headache today and have slept most of the morning. Finally deduced my husbands whereabouts through his twitter so I know he'll be another hour or so at least. Having another 5 mins rest then I'll sort the house.

Sammy I know what you mean. Everything is about 100 times harder with a little one, timing things around sleeping, eating and changing because they are too young to understand they need to wait and they just get frantic. So you try to work out the 5 minute gap inbetween your routine to get something extra done. So it is fine to moan, I completely get it.

I don't know the proper name for those, boots the nurses just called them moon boots. They are pretty standard in the maternity ward it seems. Does she have those silly socks that make everyone look glam at least?

Clare, woohoo on the scales! I just had one quick peek yesterday even though our scales are bonkers and not consistent at all. Green day today and I had 5 syns earlier. Then 2 ee days (although mostly red) then a red day and weigh in. Hope I have a good week, just half a lb needed for my interim target, and October target, but with totm not sure what'll happen. I measured my waist and hips again this morning and my waist was down to 34 :O and hips still 44.

Haha well I told my mum about moon boots so she's going to ask the dr on Monday, no point asking the nurses as they don't do anything. Also suggested nettle tea to her and she's happy to try it so will get her some of that and see if it helps. She doesn't have support stockings on, nothing like that at all. I guess the water would just go somewhere else if it wasn't in her legs and her legs ate probably preferable to her chest when she already has fluid in it and is trying to fight off this pneumonia.

Great job on the inch loss hunny, you're doing amazingly well! :) xx

Awk Sammy it really does sound like you and your poor mum are having a time of it, Clare is completely right...you deserve a moan.

My weigh in in the morning, oh I so want to be in the 8's. I will literally flip my lid if I'm not, I thought I was going to die of starvation at one point today (SLIGHT exaggeration haha and I know that's NOT the plan but the day before weigh in freaks me out) I also made the foolish decision of napping, I can never sleep on the evening before weigh in as it is so that was a super idea!

As for the Swimming suit that I was waiting for in the post...the yodel man is holding it hostage, apparently I missed his call. It's being redelivered on Thursday...I want it now and I sure as hell didn't order any special delivery so why in the name of God can they not leave it at the bloody door aghhhhhhH!
Going to go to the gym tomorrow, rather scared, haven't been on a Sunday yet and imagine it will be rather busy and full of pro's ( professional gym goers as opposed to hookers)

Lol at the pros :D

So I've slept all day. I was sick shortly after posting on here and I've just woke up. Still with headache :(

Going to grab some painkillers and hope for the best. Urgh. Will not resort to junk food. Or bread. Mmm bread.

Still trying to keep up with this thread haha. Just been to town hunting for a pair of jeans. I have some new ones I ordered from Topshop but they are super super skinny and look awful! So I went to Asda and couldn't even do up a pair of 16's!! Then went in to New Look as a last resort as I never ever go in there and was pleasantly surprised. Could have bought the whole shop! Got a pair of nice high waisted jeans that weren't too skinny and the 16's fit lovely :)

Hope everyone's having a good Saturday!

Glad you got sorted Felix. New Look is my absolute favourite shop, I <3 it! The main problem that I've had since starting SW is I'm unsure of what my style is and what I can pull off now...it's all very confusing when shopping haha!

I honestly don't know why I never go in to new look! Going to start shopping there more I think. They had some gorgeous dresses in :) ah I'm the other way round haha, I know how I want to dress but I can't really pull it off because of my size! I'm sure you'd look great in anything now :D take someone shopping who you trust to tell you the truth about how you look when you try stuff on, and just try on a variety of things :)

Hi all, just seen this group and thought I would join, I am 23, have so far lost 1st5.5lbs, still got between 3 and 4 stone to lose but am finding the diet really quite easy to follow at the min, this WI, on tues, will be my 9th, and am hoping to get my 1.5stone award!!

Hope everyone is having a grand weekend xx

No stockings?! If she isn't very mobile she should have them to reduce the risk of blood clots by helping circulation. My family is a disaster zone so we have a lot of stupid experiences with this crap. Favourite is the nurse giving up explaining my mum's care to my dad and just explained it to me instead (I was about 15) Haha.

Clare so sorry to hear you are poorly again :( I'd be craving bread and butter too.

Felix yay for the jeans! I need to look for some new ones really but I am going to wait until December I think... Hopefully got rid of another half stone by then. I like new look jeans, looking forward to getting some not from their fat girl section. I am making to with a belt holding up the ones I have to far.

Jenna I totally know what you mean by being unsure what style suits you now. I know most myrine and me stuff makes me look even more pear shaped, but I love frensca styles. Adini males me too bulky too.... Ok so i am still bulky but adini makes me look even bigger. What is lovely is some women at flabbers said I have great style. considering I haven't dyed my hair in 6 months, I rarely bother with make up for group and just sling on the same dress and leggings to be weighed in I thought they were taking the piss. But it is a small town so they do see me around, usually spying in my shopping basket. And tut tut not eating much today.

Nate is strutting to hot stuff playing on strictly with my tape measure draped around him. Too cool

Wow camz way to lose weight! I can't believe you have lost so much so fast. well done! Welcome to the 20 somethings.

Thank you so much :) I'm really trying, have only had 4 days of going over syns since I started ( 2 nights out, my birthday, and a hungover Chinese takeaway) so have been pretty good!

Xxx
