Morning Folks
You know, you really have to put your faith in this diet rather than the scales. That's kinda hard sometimes because we want to go down, and many of us have lost so much faith in diets that we gauge the success of the diet by what the scales say. Scales play silly, and we assume the diet isn't working
But! There is no way this diet can't work. On the lower plans (1000 - SS) you will definitely be losing fat. I'd stick my neck out and say you will lose on 1200, and probably even 1500 (though other factors come in here).
So what's going on?
Well, when we lose fat, for some reason the fat cells drop the fat and sometimes fill with water. We're not quite sure why this happens, but it does for some people. After a while, the water will release again and the scales play nicely.
I had a client who gained in the first week. From not dieting to SS
I'm sure she was 100%. She was gutted. I was gutted for her:cry: But she stuck with it. Not sure where she got the strength after that weigh in on her first week, but she did.
Her losses were relatively slow after that, losing her first stone in 5 weeks, but she said this was a lot faster than previous diets she had done and she was finding it relatively easy to do, so all was well.
Her 2nd stone picked up, and surprisingly for both of us, she lost a stone in 3 weeks (week 6,7 and 8). It's a mystery. Never seen that happen before after a slow 1st month. The wonders of the body.
So, Lindzi. The 2lbs gain, though hard to get your head around, didn't mean you weren't losing fat. Just that you gained a bit of water. The fat went. The glycogen was reducing. You were either in ketosis, or very close, so the hunger and cravings were due to go/reduce big time.
All was well. But yes, it's demotivating isn't it. But it was working. Just the scales being silly.
Never let the scales bully you around. Trust the plan.
