3 teir steamer

#1
Hi everyone...I know this is a bit random, but my friend has given me her steamer because she never uses it, however she lost the instructions, so I have no idea how long to cook things for????

I will be using it for veggies, jersey royals, chicken and fish, any ideas.

Oh, and do I put the food in straight away or does it have to warm the water first.

God I'm so useless with cooking gadgets!!!

I think you put the things that take the longest in the bottom and work up
I think you can put them in straight away Not sure on timings though

What make is it? Someone might have the manual they can send to you?

You don't normally preheat them, just sling it all in and switch it on.

I normally put things like new pots/carrots/sprouts etc in bottom and cauli/brocolli/cabbage/peas in the top.

Mine takes around 18 minutes for veg though I tend to give it longer for cauli. Potatoes take a little longer.

About the same for chicken and fish too but you can always put it back on for another few minutes once you've checked them.

I take it she showed you where to put the water in and where the max mark is?

I love my steamer, but I prefer the one you put on the hob rather than my electric one. I love the way it cooks salmon - hmmm, yummy xxx
