5 stone challenge

i really dont think the bike would be strong enough to cope with me doing stunts on it, the tyres will probably be flat with my just sitting on it lol

weve got a courtyard to share, upstairs fire escape stairs come down onto it, weve put a gate up so the dog can nip out for a pee without running away so thats kind of 'our' bit, upstairs park their car on the other bit, but weve said when i get my car we'll take in turns to park there, the other person would have to park in the road. upstairs dont really use the courtyard except for parking, they want to put up a washing line for the summer which we can share which is nice

not up to much today, trying to tidy up and clean as much as i can, mum and nan are coming over for tea today so ive got until 4pm to get the place looking normal lol going to make a roast and a cake

hows things with u msJMC? is mia any better? x

Sarah well done on not giving in to the temptation of pizza and chips! that shows some real willpower :) x

Hello beautiful people, I have been quiet for a while..but hey!...I'm back!!!..well,at work now and just thought to share something I read in the book 100days of dieting which I think most of us do and we are not aware of it..hope it helps someone..

"I discovered a fascinating behavior that helps people know when they are full. At some point in the process of eating a meal, most people stop briefly and lay down their forks or put down the food they're holding in their hands. Then they might stretch, talk a little, watch TV, or even read the newspaper.

After this pause in their eating, people will often glance down at their food and decide they want more. Maybe they think it still looks good or they just want more of the taste in their mouths, so they pick up their forks and resume eating. But after finishing the rest of their food, they exclaim, "I shouldn't have eaten that because now I'm too full."

Stopping at the "pause"

When you naturally pause in your eating, you're usually at the exact point where you feel satisfied or comfortable. In fact, this pause seems to correlate exactly with the moment your stomach indicates it's taken in enough food. If you continue to eat, you quickly move to the level of being too full.

Each person responds differently to the eating pause. Some people push their plates aside, subconsciously concluding they've had enough. Others wait a few minutes, and then begin eating again. In this case, they miss the signal to stop.

Watch carefully for the eating pause, and then use it as a guide to stop eating. If you typically ignore it and eat more, you risk gaining weight because you'll always tend to take in more calories than your body needs.

Built-in signal

As a weight-loss tool, you can use the eating pause anywhere. It works especially well for times when you can't choose your portion amounts, such as at restaurants or banquets. Build the habit of watching for this internal sign that tells you when to stop eating.

Even when you're just having a snack, letting your food sit for a while usually indicates you don't need to eat any more. Once you're able to consistently recognize the eating pause, you'll always be able to tell how much food your body needs.

Start watching other people eat, especially when you're at dinners or in restaurants. You'll be amazed at how easily you can spot others having an eating pause. You'll also notice that many people do the pause, but keep eating anyway."

Well done elejesu! Yay! :-D
Interesting about 'the pause' too - I'll bear that in mind.

I'm being pretty good this week, just about sticking to plan and have done tons of walking - about 2 hours worth just today - this sat better be a good weigh in! x

Hope everyone else is ok :)

Hi all , not been well with sore throat , up early 5:30am due to cant sleep .
Elejesu , well done on your first stone ! must feel great .
just reading your stop and pause there and thinking to myself , thats it i never seem to be full , maybe i'm not putting enough on the plate lol
sam , you are funny about the stunts lol . good idea about the washing line , dont want wet washing hanging about .
Hclaire , walking is good , you should have a good weight loss , hows your plan going ?
for me , not been well for few days and now TOTM too so feeling unwell , summer colds are horrid .
sarah , you seem to be going great guns on exante .... its proving that you really want it , are you following the book 100 days ?
surrey , i used to visit someone in smallfields ... do you know it ?
yes long drive with kids in the car , how did you get on at your mum and dads ?

Well - I thought my plan was going great, til I stepped on the scales this morning!!!
It says I have gained 3lb since yesterday!!! What the hell - I had a good day yesterday, what I ate was - fruit salad and a yoghurt for breakfast, a small portion of cottage pie and some grapes for lunch, curried lamb with rice for tea and an aero mousse. And I did have a bottle of magners sat outside last night - but like I said yesterday, I must have done 2 hours of walking.

Why a 3lb gain? I'm gutted now. ?

Sorry for your gain :(, not totm or something? I'm sure it'll come off again next week x
I've gone and blown it this week! Worked last night and it's half term so have both the kids here today, I'm sooooooo tired, I ate some of the kids crisps and some cheese, and have had two bars today, so I'm sure I'll have knocked myself out ketosis, such an idiot! After eating all that I still feel just as tired! :(

Ah Sarah... Bet you're fed up with yourself, back on the wagon now eh?
No, it's not my TOTM - that was last week when I lost! Haha. Ah well... Keep going and see what happens on WI tomorrow x

WI - STS
At least that 3lb gain from yesterday morning has disappeared. Funny how I am exactly the same weight as last Saturday though!
Wonder if I need to alter my plan a bit and do red and green days rather than the EE plan. Hmmmm.
Well, I'm off to see Kasabian in Sheffield today so I'm having a day off, as I'm going to be having a pub tea and drinks - won't go too silly though.
Hope you all have a good day and successful WI's xx :)

Hi all, hope you're have a lovely day, I have put 1.5 on, which I think is only due to yesterdays blow out! Oh well lesson learnt, will aim for a TS week to try and pull it back :), speak soon x
