Oooh the lamb rogan josh sounds nice!

Is that spicy though?

it's not blow your head off spicy... and if it is, just add a little bit of low fat plain yoghurt.

315 cals per serving. This recipe makes 4 servings.

  • low fat cooking spray
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 500g lean lamb leg steak, cubed
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1.5 tbsp rogan josh curry powder (to be honest any curry powder you have would be fine, garam masala certainly did the job for me)
  • 400g can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 sliced carrots
  • 1 lamb/chicken stock in 150ml boiling water
  • 2 tbsp tomatoe puree
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander

1. heat oil add onions until browned
2. add cubed lamb and seal til browned - medium high heat.
3. add garlic, ginger, curry powder. cook and stir for 1 minute
4. add tomatoes, carrots, stock, puree, coriander. season if desired.
5. reduce heat to low, then cover and simmer for 1 hour (or until lamb is tender)
6. check seasoning and serve.

lol. i suppose it is. but they're a great ingredient :) esp for low fat sauces.

if you don't like tomatoey curries maybe try and find a dopiaza recipe, think that's more onion/pepper.

I buy the box of mayflower curry sauce from Morrisons ( well I did when I ate!) and it tastes just like chinese curry. x

porridge with some maple syrup .. yum yum :)

I having porridge with honey :)

Oh is that mayflower stuff light??

watch the sugar content in some of those "low fat" meals; it's really really high! Bad bad carb :eek:P

Mayflower curry per 100g. 77 calories. 3.8g of fat, 1.3g of saturated fat. There is 255g in a box and it usually does me about 3 times. x

oooh cool! May have to try this :)

Going to try and make home made rice pudding tomorrow with all light ingredients :D
