Abi's weightloss diary - post jaw surgery

You could try South Beach - Like Atkins but less fat and more veg.

Hi abz, come on in the water is fine. LOL.

i don't mind the fat... and the amount of veg is great on the ongoing weight loss bit... i'm sure i can handle a fortnight of induction at least. not looking forward to the carb hangover though.... after the last couple of weeks it's going to be a doozy...

off to a friend's wedding this weekend so looks like monday morning is when i'll be starting. i would like to get started straight away really, but the food choices weren't low-carb friendly for the wedding and it's the last thing on my social calendar until september when it is thomas's birthday and by then i should be well into the swing of things if it comes to it.

abz, it won't let me reply to your PM, it says you need to clear some messages out. :D

OK, I'll go and find yourPM. :D

I love the pictures Abz, you looked gorgeous. Thomas looked lovely too, you make a smashing couple.

I'm back, trying my softly softly approach, soi far so good. Hope you can pick a plan that really suits you.

Love

thanks barb :)

i'm just doing what i like at the moment. monday is soon enough to worry about it . i forgot i was going to that wedding so bought the book and got all hyped up, ha. and now i need to wait. rather than go through carb hangover and then again next week as i don't want to avoid things at this wedding as i'll have to go the whole day without eating... if i'd thought about it i maybe could have wangled something but there's no need. it's only a couple more days after all. and we're going to liverpool for the weekend and i've never been, so that should be fun :)

I have friends who do atkins and they love it and it works well for them. Not for me as I love the old carbs too much!!

xx

i remember loads of lovely things that i used to have low carbing. low carb cottage pie, a strange eggy meaty pie thing... omelettes, mmm, omelettes... tacos using a lettuce leaf instead of the shell... i actually still do that, i like it better than the shells, ha.

can't wait :D

cream of mushroom soup... this was all on about 40g of carbs a day so some of them not great for induction. but yum!!

let me know which book you use I may give it another try!

i've bought the big orange one. the atkins new diet revolution i think it's called. it goes through all the different phases and what you can have in each one. although jim's sticky on the atkins forum is really really handy :D

I need things to be simple cos anything that seems like hard work will give me reason to cheat

I can't speak to someone with atkins breath up close.

...just thought I'd share :)

ha. well you're in another country puggs so i think we'll be ok :D

i never seemed to suffer with that overmuch in any case.... hopefully that will remain the case :)

when i've low-carbed in the past it's been easy because i just had to keep below 40g, so anything went as long as it stayed below that. a lot of supermarkets do cold chicken legs etc now too for snackage...

and omelettes... easy peasy. omelette and salad. gotta love it. and cauliflower mash!! with butter. food of the gods!! best thing to come out of low-carbing is cauli mash :D

abz babe I am drooling - love cauli but never had it mashed

it's fabulous. if you cook it up until it's soft and mash it with the heat still on as it retains loads of water and if you don't it can be a bit mushy and add butter... scrummy. even better with cheese. and cream too for cauli cheese. oh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

it's how you make low carb shepherds pie. you use it instead of potato. you do have to be careful to calculate the carbs in it though. it's a fairly low carb vegetable but it's easy to overdo it. and if you don't add butter it's great to have bolognaise sauce (without much tomato in it) on instead of pasta with a heap of cheese on top... can you tell i like low-carbing?? hee.

well i think i shall pootle off to bed :)

abz xx
