How do you work these out? You dont get the activity booklet until week 4.

weight (lbs) X no of minutes X 0.000232 (light), 0.00033 (medium), 0.00081 (high)

Awesome thanks!

Ive earn't 6 :D!

Werent expecting it to be anything like that, my gym sessions are quite heavy but thought it would be about 3 for some reason

Thank you to WWMB for the method to work out activity points earned but I am totally gutted! I worked my activity points out and it seems that having done 30 mins medium intensity cardio and 30 mins weights I have only earned 2 activity points, thought it would have been more to be honest and seems very unfair for the effort put in!!! I have an older version of the WW handbook and according to that, for 15 mins running at a speed of 11 mins a mile (which I did today) you earn 2.5 points hence me working out that I earn approx 6 acitivity points for a typical gym session. GUTTED if I really am only earning 2 points for a gym session!!!!

yeah its proper gutting, its a pretty accurate equation i checked it with a friend who does ww online. walking for over an hour today an only earned 1.5pts

To be honest, same as!

I run 6.3km in 36 minutes usually, followed by weights and then sometimes another 20 minutes in climbing machine. I thought it would be loads of APs, but only works out at 2. What do peeps do to earn 7? Is it just that I'm close to target?

i think alot of people count just walking around as exercise which you're not meant to do as its meant to be concentrated exercise.

No I didnt count that...

I used that equation posted. I done 80 mins intense cardio, body combat, treadmill and crosstrainer at high speed and level.

I think the whole activity points thing is very unfair, feeling very cheated lol!!! Oh well, on the plus side I never usually count the points I earn anyway but even still I am GUTTED!!!!!

to determine your level;.

light= can have a normal conversation
medium= can speak but its harder and breaking a sweat
high=cant have a conversation

There seems to be a bit of a jump between med and high intensity, I just worked out that for 30 mins med intensity I would earn 1.25 points and for high intensity its 3 points. Hmmmmmm how do you differentiate between med and high??? I ran for 15 min at a pace of 11 mins a mile and it puffed me out but didn't kill me then did a very fast paced hill climb for 15 minsxxx

Mines mainly high I wouldnt like to hold any form of convo whilst Im owkring out, could probs have a breif convo some parts. if I class it as medium its 3 points which is more what I was expecting and counting my gym workout as anyways so I'll say its medium to be on the safeside.

unfortunately the slimmer we get the less ap's we earn for the same amount of exercise :(

Ah just seen your posting about how to work out intensity, thanks for that. Might just meet in the middle and call my hours work out 3 lol x

just to be a pain in the butt,

for medium its actually 0.000327, and 0.0008077 for high. its not much, but as you should always round DOWN to nearest half a point and most of the time you are not working at as high a rate as you think you are, its best to be precise otherwise you end up having an inaccurate reading. you are also best to assume medium intensity for most of your heavy exercise unless you are completely sure you could not have put an ounce more effort into your session.

I did 50 minutes of a workout dvd and 30 mins jogging. It was at least medium intensity and some of it was high where I couldnt hardly talk. I worked it out at medium intensity using the equation posted and it came out at 6pts. I have I done it wrong?

It all seems a bit of an unreliable method of working it out!
