Alternating high & low calorie days..

.. is really keeping me on track!

I'm proud of myself that I'm actually sticking to a diet plan, and I haven't given up or quit or thought oh I'll just binge tonight & start again tomorrow.

I'm averaging 1320 calories daily, but rather than sticking to that set amount each day I've been keeping low throughout the week & having one high calorie day.

So my weekly calories Monday to Friday & my Sunday calories are about 1040, and that means on a Saturday I can have 3000 calories! :)

So tomorrow is my high calorie treat day and I've already planned in a big McDonald's with my friend that totals 1465.. and I'll have something chocolatey afterwards too!

It's so much nicer knowing that I can actually eat treat foods on this one day a week & not feel guilty about it because its planned into my calories.. and it gives me something to look forward to each week! :)

It seems to be working.. I've gone from weighing in at 15st 12lbs six weeks ago, and at my weigh in last Saturday I weighed 14st 8lbs.. so that's a stone & 4lbs off in six weeks! And down from 44% body fat to 39%!

My weigh in is tomorrow morning so fingers crossed for a good loss! I already sneakily jumped on the scales this morning (oops) and saw I'm 2lbs down & that was wearing my pyjamas & a huge dressing gown on top.. so hopefully tomorrow when I'm b o l l o c k naked I might see a 2-3lb loss for this week!

Happy Friday ladies & gents :)

Well done lauren, I've had 3 days this week under 1200 cals and 2 just over 1200 because last Friday and Sunday were party days so not 100% sure how many i had but I've lost 2.5lbs this week so its worked for me too,;think it keeps your body on its toes because it doesn't know what's coming next :)

You're doing fab! Well done. Jealous of your McDs plan for tomorrow! :D

Well done for your loss so far! I tend to have one day where I eat way over my calories and my weight loss is still good so I think it really works to mix up your calorie intake :D

That's amazing!!! What number of cals do u do on the days of the week??? Do u always do 1040 per day and 3000 Saturday??
Well done xx :)

Yeah that's what I've been doing & it's working well :) some weekdays I may go lower if its a busy day and I haven't had much time to eat, and other days I go higher like up to 1200, but I use my fitness pal and they've got a weekly tracker which will show you what you've eaten on particular days and then calculate what's remaining for the rest of the week for you.

I've got 3000 for today & 1360 for tomorrow :)

Ohhhh is the weekly thing how many calories you have for the rest of the week to stay on target then? I did wonder! Ha ha! Congrats on your losses! This sounds fab! X

Currently 14st 7.3lbs. 2.3lbs until I'm 1/2 way there! Woop!

That's really interesting I might do it for a bit cos I have a few events in the next month so I could use it like that.

Do u exercise on the days your on 1040???

Yep :) I have 1689 leftover after today, so I can eat that many tomorrow and still be on target for an average of 1300 a day! x

Yeah I exercise on those days & find I have plenty of energy and feel fine :) and I do have a diary but don't regularly update it x

This has pleased meeee soooo much! Sometimes I have quite a few calories left over if I've made really good choices food wise all week. I'm going to use them up each Sunday now!! Woohhoooo! Thanks x

I've started this :D To give a bit of background, I had some fab success with slimming world, I went from 12st to 9st and kept it off for over a year, but my job role has changed and lately I've been working away loads which has led to me grabbing food when I can, which is often none too healthy.

I've read a bit about this new '5:2' diet, or Fasting Diet as it is also known. The idea for this is that you fast for two days per week, and the rest of the days you can pretty much eat what you want. It is allegedly good for losing weight and also has other health benefits. My version of this is that I will fast for two non-consecutive days per week (you are still allowed to eat, but only a max of 500 cals) I will then stick to around 1400 cals per day and on these days I will follow the basic Slimming World Red/Green day principles, and I will allow myself one day off per week (obviously not going totally crazy on my off days)

I started today, so far I have had 100 cals worth of Tesco Light Choices Cottage Cheese with Onions and Chives, and for dinner I had a plate of spaghetti bolgenese made up with Bolognese sauce (50g Quorn Mince, 3 tbsp mixed peppers, 2 heaped tbsp diced onion, 1 clove of garlic, half a tin of tomatoes and some oregano) and a packet of Slim Pasta Spaghetti (130 cals for the Bolognese sauce, 16 cals for the pasta)

It made a full plateful of Spag Bol so although I have only had 250 cals today, I'm reasonably full. Will need to get more inventive on making something reasonably satisfying for my dinner on fast days without relying too much on the Slim Pasta or Zero noodles though as they are expensive stuff!
