Am I being stupid?

My CDC weighed me at 81.75kgs which converted to stones is 12st 9lbs. I needed to change that to pounds for my ticker but if I convert 81.75kgs then its 180lbs but 12st 9lbs is 177lbs What am I doing wrong when converting these?

Maybe the original calculation of 12st 9lbs is incorrect?

one kilogram is the same as 2.2 lbs - so 81.75 kg - is actually 179.85 lb = which is the same as 12 stone 8 and a half pound - if you work it on 2.2lb but I am as consufsed as you if I work it as 12 x 14 + 9 = 177lb - Any mathematicians out there!!

Oh I did it on one of those online converter thingies and it said 12st 9lbs, will try a different one

Nah it isn't Remember the .85 is .85 of a stone...not 8.5 pounds.

Hi Hun,

there are 2.2lbs per kg, so 81.75kg is 179.85lbs - or rounded to 180lbs.

180lbs divided by 14lbs is 12st 8.5lbs - rounded either way to 12st 8 or 12st 9.... but id go with 12st 8 if i were you

Does that make sense of have i confused you? I think Ive confused myself....

oh... ive just realised you had got that far... and i see what your saying, im sitting here with my calculator scratching my head lol... let me have a think about it and i'll get back to you pmsl x

Go and weigh yourself on some scales that weigh in stones and pounds I say! Even converting stones to pounds does my head in as they don't always tally because of the rounding up so I have to keep it realllly simple, me. Good to see you back!

81.75kg = 180.23lbs
180.23 divided by 14 = 12.87

That's 12 stone and .87 of a stone

.87 of a stone = 12.18

Makes 12 stone 12lbs.

Need a calculator here, but don't know where it is...so only to 2 decimal places. Should be enough though

ah yes, the peeps are right, its .85 of a stone which is actually 12lbs, so 81.75kg is 12st 12lbs - which is 180lbs. x

No problem Very easy to get confused with the way it 'presents'...the .87 just feels like it should be 8.7lbs doesn't it.
