Three things jumped out at me:

"I read Pierre Dukan’s diet book in preparation for an interview on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. When we spoke, he was charming and sympathetic."

<Everyone says how nice he is!!>

We had a consultation, we went back over my history and discussed my aims.

It was unrealistic, he said, for a post-menopausal woman to be the slip of a thing she once was. Nine-and-a-half stone should be consigned to the past. Perhaps 12½ stone would be easier. I had to agree"

and

Any fantasies I may have had about a Frenchman being sympathetic towards the odd glass or three of wine were quickly dispelled. Not allowed at all in the first two stages of the diet — entirely empty calories.

hes going to be nice to flog his books lol
I know i wont ever be 8 1/2 stone again but i hope not 3 stone over what i was

Actually reading her account in the Daily Mail was exactly why I decided to look into the diet. So the book arrived on my doorstep today and I will be starting the diet on Wednesday after I have 2 days of eating my very expensive fruit salad. I have been shopping and bought everything I need, read almost everything written on this forum, copied and pasted loads of yummy recipes and I am now looking forward to getting down to it.
