Any consultants out there?

If only you were all in Barnsley you could all come to my group (if I get one!) lol :D

I went to a meeting yesterday about being a consultant I think I would like to do it. Just need to sort out a loan I think I will go for option b and get the whole package. How long are u thinking it will take to make your money back? And also they said it's 10 hours a week. I know it will be a few hours for the actual group but what do we do in the other 7 hours?? X

Just out of interest, what do you need to do to be a consultant? I'm intrigued by the loan/option b package you mention. I don't really have time at the moment but it's something I think I'd like to do at some point.

Preparing talks/sessions. Helping members ( responding to queries via SMS/fb etc), getting to and from venues and setting up. Leafleting, posters, advertising. Many more things am sure!

Our consultant works all the time on S W to be honest. I did go to another group years ago and the consultant there was hopeless. Nothing was planned, IT was so boring, just a matter of going through all the losses, gains, then out the door as quick as possible. No taster sessions, no games or quizzes, not even any information! I think you would find a lot to do within those 7 hours, as has been said. There seems to lot more to it if you want to do it properly. And she is constantly on our fbook page with tips, advise, and general helpful comments. If you are prepared to put in the work I am sure you will do so well. As they say, "fail to prepare is prepare to fail!" The other 7 hours is probably for all the extras. She also spends time shopping for the raffle prize. :)

Yeah I thought the other 7 hours would be shopping for new stuff and researching and finding new ideas for the group and games which is right up my street! I am constantly on here anyway may aswell put my obsession to a good use and I love Facebook texting and talking about slimming world :)

I think you sound just the sort of person they want then rosie! I am the same as you, constantly thinking, sleeping, eating, reading, planning, and talking about S W . I am obsessed, but its a good obsession dont you think? Love talking to other members about it, love group, and got my husband doing it now too! Cant whack it! :)

He he, same here. I have to try and rein myself in, when they glaze over I know they have had enough. I am on fbook page all the time posting recipes etc. I was asked by my c if I would consider being a c myself, but I look after my little granddaughter some days of the week and as I am 59 I dont want to start going out to work again. Plus the fact I only have a small car and couldnt transport all the stuff around, and I'm not well clever with the pc. But the actual talking about S W, oh yes I could do that all day and love helping new members and I am on the social team. :)

Yeah I am on the social team too. I am 22 so got lots of enthusiasm and the computer is like a second nature to me so I think I would be okay. Only down side to my age is some people may not like being taught by someone younger than them??

It wouldn't bother me if someone was younger. Princess Stevie on here is a young lass but very wise and supportive, she'd be fab. I'm sure you will be too.

I'd like to do it but am just not sure about the marketing side of it.

Good luck hun. Xx

Ahhhh thank u. I'm sure most people would be supportive but I had bad experiences at my old job when I got a promotion and narrow minded people saying how can they justify giving a "20 year old" a job over me. Made me feel so crap I actually left. Some people are so nasty x
