Anyone else weigh at home on a thursday- wanna post?

My weekend was full of wine and I am very ashamed of myself because I have no excuse other then time of the month and to be honest Ive been having those for 20 years so I should have got over it by now. If I manage to stay the same this week it will be a minor miracle and probably completely due to the fact that I have had ham salad for lunch all week and stuck to 8 syns or less a day - yes that is how much I drank and it was red wine :sigh:
YUM to red wine :)
Don't beat yerself up.. We have to live a little too.. Can't be diet diet diet all the time.. Just draw a line n forget it.. And sure yer making up for it now.. Damage limitation goes a long way :)

Hi Pebs, Just a quick question to see if you have any tips.. Jonathan was at the docs yesterday to get his dressing changed and wound checked.. She thinks an infection is on its way/its infected.. She's swabbed it and sent it off for analysis and he's due back to her Friday.. If she gets back "anything nasty" she'll call him in sooner...
She's given him a second anti-biotic to take along with the one he's on so hopefully it'll fight anything that's there/on its way...
Is there anything he can eat/drink/take to help fight any infection? I was gona go ask in the chemist/health food shop but they'll give me anything to make a sale...

Oh poor Jonathon - how is he today?

I'm probably going to be a bit naughty today - Martin and I are playing hookey today and heading off for lunch and to the cinema for the afternoon! Martin is working ridiculous hours lately, we hardly seem to see each other and when we do we're worrying about joe or money or work. So we're off for the afternoon and I feel just a little bit teenager-y!!!!

Oh you got and enjoy your day hun.. Have yerself a day off and just enjoy couple time.. We all need it.. Sometimes we forget we're part of a couple/relationship with life and its problems getting in our way..

He's bored as hell and getting cranky.. He's had enough of sitting around now but hey ho.. He has to just get on with it..
I think the pain is easing and he's got a bit more flexability.. Not much but its getting easier to do normal things like put on a t shirt/jumper...
He has taken my car for the day so at least he can get out n about a bit.. I downloaded him some movies last night too so they should pass a few hours for him..

well done Dubs you are the true spirit of making the best of a bad situation at the moment. xxx

Can you tell me more about that chicken and bacon? Is it on the recipe thread? I remember making it last time I was on the diet. I must plan a few days menus this morning - my mother is coming to mind Joe for an hour later so that I can get my walk in and do my grocery shopping.....

Hey buddies sorry I wasn't on here yesterday to answer all your questions. On my phone so I can't multi quote so I'll have to answer in turn sorry.

Right the chicken New Yorker.

Chicken breast into a dish then lay a piece of bacon on top, drizzle a couple of tbsp of BBQ sauce or reggae reggae sauce (1 syn per tbsp) and bake util cooked then lay a health extra a of cheese on top and return to the oven to melt. Gorgeous xx

Well done Tracy on getting to that group and good luck with it, won't be easy getting out of ww or sw habits but it'll be great to try something new , all the best Tracy you're on the road to getting that knee sorted xxxxxxx

And jenny don't worry about the red wine weekend, dubs is completely right and you've done so well in sorting out your lunches and syns this week , you could so easily have said to hell with it and started again next week - well done x

Sorry to hear Jonathan is still suffering. Likelihood is the antibiotics he was on weren't the right ones to ward off any infection so hopefully the new ones will do the job. Different bugs are sensitive to different antibios so it should respond now. Wish him luck for Friday. As far as food goes I would say vitamin c is very important for healing along with iron rich foods such as dried apricots etc. plus plenty of fluids. Xx

Smurfy you ol devil you! you get out there and do all stuff we take for granted so often .
Well done dubby on your 1/2 lb loss that's so good considering you're away from home and its so difficult to stick to plan and just being polite as a guest. Well done chum x

Then the real beauty was dessert- plum batter pudding at 6 syns a portion.

It was so easy and cooked in 25 mins, really yummy almost like having a plum sponge. I had it with low fat Greek yogurt but next time will have it with low fat custard for a real 'naughty but not ' pud. The recipe made 6 servings at 6 syns each. Recipe is from the small booklet in this months sw mag.

85g plain flour
2 eggs
285ml milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
30g caster sugar
2tbsp sweetener
400g plums stoned and sliced
1 level tbsp Demerara sugar

Preheat oven gas 5 / 190c
Spray a shallow dish with frylight and place sliced plums over the bottom.
Sieve flour into a bowl. In a jug mix together vanilla, eggs, milk, caster sugar and sweetener.
Pour halF into the flour and bind together then gradually mix remaining in until you have a smooth batter.
Pour batter over plums and scatter Demerara sugar. Bake for 25mins or until browned and cooked through. Simply gorge

Today's menu was a bit of a 'cock up' as I over did my 'b' choices der!!!!!

Anyway breakfast muesli and a muller lite

Lunch was a wholemeal roll with joes sausages, ketchup mustard and fry lighted onions, a satsuma and a mug of tea.

And dinner tonight was the great American cheeseburger, topped with burger sauce, Cajun mushrooms and sw American fries.

Yes there's the muesli, 2 whole meal rolls and fries. So I'm using muesli and potato as 'b' choices then the rolls as syns (12 in total, fiddlesticks.)

Good luck for weigh in my lovely gang xxx

Thanks guys, it was lovely to be out just the two of us - first time since November!!! I was bold enough, could have been worse I suppose, we went to nando's for lunch - I had a chicken pitta with side salad, followed by my body weight in popcorn at the cinema. For dinner I cooked the sausage and balsamic tomatoes pasta dish from the slimming eats website - it was yum!! I've talked Martin into following the diet with me and am in the process of talking him into trying out an au pair so that we have more time to ourselves!!
