Anyone else weigh at home on a thursday- wanna post?

Pebs haven't got dressed today so no walk... But... I have spent the day stripping wallpaper on the hall n landing n in the bedroom so lotsa exercise... Will that suffice for today???

Okay dubby I'll allow it as that's still calorie burning. I walked for just under 2 miles in the snow blizzard.

hi pebs just to let you no i tried the recipes you sent me,the were great the chicken pizza was fab, thank you so much, i also did the advert exercise .but i could not do the stairs one as i dont have any stairs lol ,i live in a bungalow couldnt get out either to do the walk as the weather as been terrible, looking forward to some more recipes and tips thank you again and good luck to you all
 
hi pebs yer i do like chillies and spicy food nothing to complcated as i am not that good at coking rearly, i am just use to pretty simple old plain cooking if you no what i mean but i am up to trying anythink , thank you for all your help you are a star
 
Dubs you're on! Exercise it is! I am guilty of doing none since the car accident ,but I'm going to start slowly.

So, first challenge - Saturday and Sunday are 'stride it out ' days . So I would like us to walk somewhere, however short the walk but something that you've not been doing recently. Sunday walk a little further or a little faster.

Monday - advert challenge. Whilst watching tv, during the first advert break, jog on the spot for one entire advert. Repeat for 3 ad breaks over one night

Tuesday- step into Tuesday. So it's the stairs challenge , step up and down the first stair for 3 mins ( sounds easy but try it! )

Wednesday wake up shake up- a glass of hot water and a slice of lemon first thing, 5 sit ups

Thursday either a walk or a jog

Friday - thank god it's Friday work your thighs day - stairs challenge again, this time try to double your time and add a can of beans in each hand

OK so Saturday was hours stripping....... my wallpaper!! ha ha.. And yesterday was lotza tidying in the house and running around doing shopping and moving boxes n tools n ladders n bags of clothes n a wee doggy walk of about half hour... So whats today then??? Bring it :D
 
Today is advert challenge. Choose an advert and jog for the entire advert ( only one not the whole ad break) then if you do that ok. Do it 3 times more this evening.
Oh ha ha ha... Id have been killing myself tryna do it for the whole break.. ha ha ha... Yes it would kill me as I'm THE most unfit person in the world :)
 
Hi I managed the ad jogging and my daughter and I did it 3 times, but I succumbed to a mini feast of chocolate and a blueberry muffin which I don't even like. You see there was an alien invasion and I was outnumbered so I just did as I was instructed by the blue people standing over me . Lol xxx

Didn't do any exercise yesterday as it was my 12 hr work day but I was rushing here there and everywhere so busy as I was the only nurse on.
Had marmite toast for breakfast , then 2 mini wholemeal rolls with tuna in, wotsits and a cup of tea. Dinner was at 11pm ! Oh my god so I just quickly mashed some potatoes, and stuffed a chicken breast with garlic Philly and wrapped it in prosciutto . It was lovely but no veg etc As I just couldn't be bothered.

Today is Good Friday, teenager is out scooting with mates, little one is still snuggled on sofa enjoying a school free day, other half in bed from night shift. I've just had a mushroom and cheese omelette and 1 slice of toast n scrape of marg.

As its Good Friday, we follow the tradition of fish and no meat so I asked the kids if they wanted fish and chips or baked, steamed etc, they said slimming world fish pie - well that's a first! So fish pie it is, just means I'm off to the super to get the fish. I woke up thinking, oh sod it I'm gonna have a hot cross bun, fish and chips from chippy , a roast lamb dinner Sunday and just be good again tues but isn't that sooooo easy to do.? So, I'm going to see if they have any mini hot x buns and if so what syns are like and if not I won't bother, maybe I will make my fruit teal loaf instead and make them as buns. Yes ! That's what I'll do. I'm also going to make some of the fat free sponge cake and maybe the baked Oreo cheesecake . I'll let you know how it goes.


Ooh linmac those mullers Are 1.5 syns. Being honest I never syn them as I have them rarely but they are my fave .

Most low fat yogurts are free made by marks, sainsburys asda etc. but there is a thread on here about yogurts, hang on I'll find it for you. I'll copy the fruit loaf for you too and the fat free cake. I'm off to search ...........
 
Lemon drizzle cake

I made it as one cake and cut into 8 bars. 63 syns per cake , makes 18 cupcakes so 3.5 per cake. Or cut into 8 bars is 8 syns each.

Ingredients -
3 eggs
-60g low fat spread
-100g sugar (yes sugar, sweetener would make them about 2.5 syns ish but sweetener tastes nasty)
-115g self raising flour
Juice from 1 lemon
For top -8tsp icing sugar
lemon juice to mix

Method
1. Preheat oven to 180/gas Mark 4
2. Whisk eggs , butter and sugar together
3. Fold in flour, and mix in lemon juice
Pour into 18 cupcake case (they come out quite small but tasty) Cook for 15-20 mins until they spring back
4. When cooled mix lemon juice into icing sugar gradually until the desired constancy is achieved and drizzle over cupcakes enjoy them Yummy

FRUIT TEA LOAF
--------------------

4.5 syns per slice if cutting into 15 slices



1 cup of cold tea
227g dried fruit
227g self-raising flour
2 beaten eggs
6 level tbsp artificial sweetener (you can use more if you like but I didn't want it to be too sweet)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Soak the dried fruit in the tea overnight (or for as long as you can - it really does make the difference!)

Add all the other ingredients, mix until combined, then pour into a loaf tin lined with greaseproof paper

Bake at 180°C/Gas mark 4 for 40 minutes or until it looks done (brown on top and nice and firm).

Once cooled, remove from tin and slice into 15 slices.

SPICY APPLE CAKE

serves 8
5 syns per serving on all plans

3 eating apples
2tbsp lemon juice
finely zested rind of 1 lemon
3 large eggs separated
2 oz/57g caster sugar
4 oz/ 113g self raising flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 level tbsp reduced sugar apricot jam

1)preheat oven to 180c/350f/ gas4 grease and line a 7in cake tin (i used round)
2)halve the apples core and slice thinly. place in a bowl along with the lemon juice and rind and toss together.
3) whisk the egg whites until stiff, add sugar and egg yolks and whisk until thick and creamy.sieve in the flour and cinnamon and gently fold in using a large metal spoon, take care to retain as much air as poss.
4) spoon half mixture into the tin, and gently press half the apple into the mix. add remaining mixture and then top with remaining apple.
5) bake for 45-50 mins (i did mine for 40 and that was enough). until brown, risen and firm. - or test with a skewer or knife. allow to cool, lift out of tin on greaseproof and brush top with the jam (i forgot this bit ! )
divine! kids had it with squirty cream, i just had it with a cuppa.

Morning ladies...
Well... Forgot to WI after the other morning.. Done it today.. God I wish I hadn't!! Up another 3lb.. I deserve it completely but still.. not nice seeing it... So that's a 6lb gain in a couple of week.. 5 I think... Which is not good.. So now to get that back off with a few friends...
Brekkie this mroning has been mixed fruit (grapefruit, peach, pineapple) and a muller light vanilla with dark choc sprinkles... Lunch will be a ham salad (red onion, lettuce, tomato, sweetcorn & cucumber) with either toast or a baked potato. Dinner is undecided as I've NOTHING in my fridge/freezer/cupboards... Hoping my BF will go to the butchers n pick up some chicken fillets to have grilled chicken/philly stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon, mixed veg and brown rice.. Snacks for today include an orange, a banana and have some red onion n chive fat free cottage cheese and ryvita's in the cupboard in work should I need a 3 o'clock food fix... Hoping to get my lard ass out on at least half an hours walk this evening.. Good stretch in the evening now so no excuses...
