Back Again...

:sigh: Hi Guys!

This time last year I was pretty much in exactly the same position weight wise. I did 3 months of Exante TS and managed to lose around 4st and rather than enjoy my new body and healthy lifestyle I have managed to put most of it back on through binge eating and lack of willpower! I don't know why I keep doing this to myself.. I'm only 26 and I can already say I've spent most of my adult life on a diet. I don't want to be still saying that in another 20 years!!

So basically just thought I'd pop up a post to say hi again and thank you in advance for all the help and support I know I'll get on here to get back into the swing of things. I'm on day 4 and in ketosis so fingers crossed it's plain sailing from here on in :fingerscrossed:

Hi Sam.

Good luck this time round. You did so well before so you know it works. They say its harder once you reach goal to maintain but 3 days in I'm not sure anything can be harder than this! Hoping to use this time to address my bad relationship with food but not sure what the long-term answer is.

Jac

Thanks jac! I'm pretty sure this isn't the answer to all our problems with food but I know for sure I won't find it at the bottom of an ice cream tub or a bottle of wine lol!! :p

Good luck, I'm starting again today, not too bad so far, just drinking lots and lots of water!

Good luck to you too KingMaker. On day 4 and waiting for the magic - no more hunger feeling great - to kick in! How did you get on with it before?

I originally did Liptotrim then moved to exante, and lost around 6 stones down from 22 stone, but over the course of 3 years it's starting to creep up again. :(

Good luck smidge! Why do we do it to ourselves eh? This time round I'm throwing clothes as they get too big and will use that and daily weighing to hopefully get me back on track if I stray. At least you got to goal, I always give up after about 6 weeks ;-)

Thanks bob! I know, it's just a never ending cycle sometimes isn't it! I tried throwing clothes away and then I just ended up spending more money buying them back lol! Good luck to you too though :)

Good luck King! At least we know it won't take 3 years to get back off hey.. maybe that's part of the problem??

Yes exactly, but I now realise again how hard the diet is once the novelty has worn off, will just have to stay focused to my goals, and it's not forever! :)

Welcome back Smidge...I'm back for round 2 too :/

Good luck jizz! I hope you've not gone as far off track as me! This will be the last time I keep telling myself lol ;)

Ha ha! 100% agree with that, vlcd has lost it's charm somewhat! Trying to stay focused today for a proper TS day, no coke zero or anything out of line! We can do it! :p

Hi Peeps,

started 2 days ago and would like to join you, so far so good x

Hey Sun! Welcome to the gang :) hope you have a good day!

thanks smidge, still going ok :)

Hello. I have done the same thing. Lost 7 and a half stone a few years back and yoyo'd since. I keep going between a comfy 12 and an 18 now and the clothes are a nightmare! I started back on last friday at 14 st 1 lb. I have lost 6 lbs so im happy with that (not as good as 11, which is what came off when i was alot bigger) but feeling motivated and reading your posts helps alot. Good luck all. :) be good to see what losses we have next week. :)

Hi everyone, welcome back Smidge, I'm still here... ploughing on... sometimes upwards and sometimes downwards!

I too lost a lot of weight years ago - 11 stones lost with WW about 20 years ago.

It is so hard to keep the weight off. I feel so much better for losing 8 stones and, like everyone else, say I will never put it back on again. But saying and doing are two different things.

Losing the weight makes you feel so much better in yourself, fitter, healthier and more comfortable in your own body. However, for me, part of celebrating that is enjoying socialising without feeling like you are the fat girl with the big plateful and enjoying feeling 'normal' - whatever that is. My weight crept back on over the years. I would have return visits to WW and also tried SW to try and get back on track. Would lose a couple of stones then the losses would grind to a halt and I would lose interest and turn to food.

I am hoping that this time I can keep my weight under control with a mixture of better food choices and exercise. I've been exercising since starting Exante and think it has helped. I certainly never thought I'd see the day when I was up at 6am in a morning to do a workout before work. But after doing that for a year it is now 'normal' to do it and it feels strange when I miss it. A friend is doing SW and I have been drooling over the amount of food she can eat. When I tried SW before I couldn't lose weight on it, I think the unlimited rice and pasta didn't help my carb fixation. But it has made me think about using the SW ethos to maintain - ie, non-processed, lean protein, salad and veg - filling up on low calorie healthy food. But to keep the carbs low and to just things like sweet potato. I know bread does me no favours whatsoever and feel so much better for not eating it, so plan to keep this to a minimum and it be a treat rather than the norm.

Hopefull this, combined with regular exercise, lots of water and daily weighing will help keep me on track. We shall see. Still have 3 stones to lose before then, but good to plan ahead!

Hope everyone has a good week. x
