Back but still demotivated

Not evil at all
Hi everyone

I have been avoiding everything to do with weight loss so haven't been here for a while, but I'm back because over the past 3 weeks I've gained 8lbs - I couldn't lose 8lbs in 3 weeks so I figured I need to get back on track. I went to class last night and sat in on the newbie chat, I made my "christmas wish" (lose 14lbs) and I wrote up a shopping list & meals for the next week... but I still feel a bit down and not really into it 100%... I think eating junk food makes you feel like junk, so maybe after a couple of days of eating properly again I'll feel better! Wish me luck

Anyway just wanted to say hello x

Firstly, well done for catching up with the wagon - now its time to grip on to it and stick with it.

Think about it in these terms. You change what you are doing NOW, or another 3 weeks go by and you end up back where you started. You stick with this NOW, or you spend more weeks giving yourself more and more excuses to beat yourself up. Would you treat your best friend the way you are treating yourself? No, of course you wouldnt. So why dont YOU deserve that same level of respect?

You can do this - you have done it before and successfully so. You need to bring your mind into sharp focus. Why are you wanting this? What do you wish to achieve? Are you worth making an effort for? If you dont believe you are, then this is key. YOU ARE.

You can spend a few more weeks messing about, slipping on and off the wagon, or you can REALLY do this. You arent going to suffer, you arent going to miss out, and you have nothing to lose but the weight and the hang-ups that are holding you back. Dont be scared to change.

I really won't miss out, junk food is so horrible, I feel as if I've put on 8 stone not 8lbs. In my head I'm like "I really want this" but then there's this other part of me that feels depressed about being fat and thinks "what's the point" :( it's hard to shut it up.

I'm just going to go for it :) I want to do this!
Well done you in recognising that you need to stop that downward spiral before it gets out of hand. You see so many stories of people who have worked so hard to lose weight only to regain it all again and have to start at the beginning.

If you are like me I am either in the zone or not in the zone and it is very hard to motivate yourself when you are not in the zone. As soon as you start to see rewards for your efforts I am sure it will spur you on to achieve more and more.
Good luck!
Good luck!!!!

You're right - junk food makes you feel terrible! I get a food hangover when I eat badly - yet still I do it??!!

Making a meal plan is a great idea and I'm just about to go out and get a load of quick fix foods...meals aren't my problem it's the snacking that gets me!

Think positive and motivated and that's what you'll be!

Never gets tired of SW!
Hi hunnybun, great to see you back, not so great to see you demotivated!! You're so right about junk making you feel like junk!! I went to Spain last week on hols! I'd lost 5.5lb the week I went so was feeling amazing and super sexy (well that's an exaggeration, but felt fairly good in myself lol!) I ate for Wales, puddings every night, over did it on the alcohol, came home, couldn't for the life of me get back on track in the few days leading up to my next WI (Mon), went to a 2 yr old's birthday party and ate all the cakes under the sun! By Monday having found out I'd gained 5.5lb, I felt weighed down, huuuuge, depressed and really down in the dumps and couldn't see how I'd get back on track and feeling great again!! Woke up Tues morning with a new found determination to crack it, have some 100% days and get that weight off!! 2 days later and I'm already in a completely different frame of mind and feeling really healthy! A combination of being back in control and eating properly was all it really took after all! Sorry to go on about me, but just thought I'd share that with you! It's surprising how quickly you can get the positive feelings back, no matter how many pounds you want to lose! We think we're treating ourselves with cakes, chocolate, crisps and stodge, but really we're abusing ourselves! You can do it hun! It's just about getting into the right frame of mind again which you may surprise yourself with how quickly that happens XXXXXXXXX
