Bananas!!

Has anyone tried a week without any to see if it made a difference?

Did it??

I have 1 everyday and cant see how I'd cope not having one but I often hear about cutting back on them, just wondering if anyone's done it is all!
 
Bananas are definatly my life line when im dishing out the toddlers dinner, stops me picking at his left overs =]
 
me too. But I had been losing one pound a week and eating bananas every day. Last week didn't have any, or very few and lost 4 1/2 lbs at class. Don't know if this was a coincidence. Will test it out again - a few weeks eating them and then a week without and compare my losses and I'll re post here
 
I've been having 3 a day and had good losses every week, apart from one week which was totm.
 
Bananas are great! I also have one just about everyday with breakfast and I struggle to think how they would retard weight loss... They're not a speed food though, so it might be worth bearing in mind when eating 3+ a day!
 
I don't think they are bad but they are just considered one of the more higher carb fruits and having 3 could equal around 300 cals I think???!!! You'd be better having say 3 apples, saying that if your still losing then why change....

It's just one of the questions that crops up in my class when people are disappointed with a sts or gain, look at how many bananas your having and my answer is always 7 a week min!
 
There no reason to stop eating them. They are filling, full of fibre & potassium

Like everything, eat them in moderation (I.e not 5 a day!) and stick to the plan guidelines about only eating ifyou're hungry & you'll be fine!
 
I cut down on them one week and it didn't make any difference. I have one every day, I used to before because I liked them but now I still like them but I'm very active so have one for the energy anyway.
 
Bananas are wonderful. They are not a bad food.

I've heard this a lot, bananas stop me losing, grapes stop me losing, muller lights stop me losing..... too much food when you are not hungry stops you losing.

I eat one a day, usually with breakfast. They are good for you. Like with all foods, don't overdo it.

If you have a fab loss one week by cutting them out, I doubt it's bananas alone - let's face it, even at 3 a day (300 calories) x 7 days, that is 2100 calories - hardly a massive weight loss.

So true! A pound of fat is the equivalent of 3500 calories, that's a LOT of bananas/grapes/muller lights!
 
well I only lost one lb tonight and had no bananas so my earlier theory isn't correct!
