Beating bulimia and looking forward to the new me!

Ok so ive just started slimming world again - the last time i managed a few days on it ( tut tut ). Im going on holiday in just over two weeks so that should give me the added determination to see this through. Since i originally had my weigh in when i joined at the end of last year ive put on a stone, my aim now is to lose a stone and a half and to basically enjoy this diet. I love that no food is not allowed, it just has to be had in moderation, thats where the challenge comes for me - having things in moderation - I have a problem with binge eating - well bulimia. Im unable to have sweet foods ( even a single biscuit ) without eating every other single sweet thing in sight. This will be a challenge but something i think i can achieve and im looking forward to trying at least. Im also looking forward to making lots of tasty dishes, i made quorn spaghetti last night and it was delicious! Everything was free or superfree foods and to me thats just great. If anyone has some great recipies for any meal time, feel free to share... as i have a very sweet tooth lol all desert recipes are definately welcome! A quote i hope to help me through this - "For things to change, I must change!" Sounds about right

Hi,

I totally agree with Hannah, I have to be honest and say I don't know much about eating disorders, I do wish you all the very best, im not going to say luck, as it's not luck, its a start of a new journey for you that is going to be difficult.

everyone here will be here to help you through it, and I hope you have a good support group around you at home.

Lisa x

P.s are you seeing a counselor or a doctor ? As I would deffo reccomend that you speak to your doctor as they may be able to offer extra help to you.

Thanks for the advice. I did see an eating disorder specialist and they recommended group therapy, they also recommended self help books. I know I can beat this I just need to get my will power back and ignore the times when I want pizza as I'm never normally Hungary for it I'm just bored. I'm going to try and keep a food diary on here so I can look at what I'm having and hopefully if other people are reading it I will want to stay on track and not binge on junk as I'll be embarrassed putting it on here because of just how much I do eat when I do binge.

Yesterday - Monday.
EE

Breakfast - 3 pieces ww brown Danish bread (hxb)
3 thin slices of smoked salmon

Lunch - skipped as was asleep from night duty

Dinner - quorn mince, tin chopped tomatoes with herbs, fried in fry light with spring onion and red pepper. Spaghetti and a side salad. Was lovely and I really enjoyed cooking it. For afters a strawberry mullerlight

Supper - ( at work ) chopped up apple, melon and strawberries and a orange and chocolate sprinkle mullerlight.

I think it was a syn free day.

Tuesday - so far

Early morning snack as at work 2am - some blackberries, raspberries and blueberries

Breakfast - 2 rashers of lean bacon, 2 eggs scrambled, 2 grilled quorn sausages, 2 pieces of ww brown bread with some leek and cabbage on the side

Lunch - chopped up banana, melon, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries

For dinner I plan on having - 3 cut up quorn fillets fried in fry light with yellow, red & green peppers and spring onion, with wholemeal pasta and a side salad. As an after a part frozen vanilla and chocolate sprinkle mullerlight ( really recommend people trying this as it's lovely and tastes just like frozen normal frozen yoghurt, I tend to keep it in the freezer for about 3-4 hours and it's a great substitute for ice cream )

I'm working tonight so I will take more fruit and another mullerlight to see me through, hopefully staying away from the biscuits and cake at work!

Hopefully another syn free day!
