    hi all am new here.....
    have been trying to low carb by myself since Wednesday.... looking up allabout different low carb diets and it's all a bit confusing :/
    I do have a question though......
    how much butter does everyone have? is there a limit to how much you can have? I know Atkins lists it in the induction lists and says a seving is 1 tbsp. but doesn't say if it is restricted.
    am trying to work out exactly what and how much I can eat :/
    we eat a lot of green beans and broccoli so I know I need to look at portion sizes when we have these....do you guys eat cauliflower and tomatoes on induction?
    milk will be the hardest thing to give up...tat and coffee!

    Hiya I'm not sure I'm afraid, I thought that about the website too so I'm trying not to have too much of it and I also read that we should only have 4oz of cheese and 3/4 tbs of cream a day too, I thought these were unlimited.
    Yes to tomatoes, but they are really high so limit them. I've given up milk, now having black coffee and peppermint teas :) it's hard but I think worth it x

    And definite yes to cauliflower too, this is probably one if the best vegs I think

    Hi ladies

    Have as much butter as you like (not marg, they add all sort of yucky stuff to it) - also the good oils - EVOO and particularly coconut oil, which has been proven to help you lose weight - some people even put it in their coffee and/or take a tsp of it before a meal.

    Re veg - beans are high in carbs, as are tomatoes - so your first choice should be thing like spinach, cabbage, other green leafy stuff, - but if you really want toms then have them - they are packed full of goodness - just don't go overboard :)

    Cauli is the wonderkid of low carb - you can mash it, roast it, make pizza basses out of it (I kid you not, google cauli pizza - I've made them and they are LUSH).

    And don't forget celeriac - also good mashed, but comes into its own as oven baked chips :)

    Cheese and cream are limited - and for some (like me, with cream) they can stall you - I'm afraid that's just trial and error. Ditto citric acid on the stalling front.

    Re milk - I use soya, coconut or hazelnut milk - all low in carbs.
