Hey, excellent that you did it!
I do 4-5hrs of cardio workout a week, fairly intensive - started CD 2 days ago because although I feel good and fit, the weight wasn't coming off.
My CDC tells me I should stop working out on SS - she's is concerned I'll be burning almost as many calories as ingesting. Has anyone else been told to stop working out?
So far I did a full workout yesterday and am planning at least a half one today. I figure my body will tell me what it can/can't take....

Thanks!

Hiya.. well I haven't been told to stop, but I'm not doing very much or very often, and I'm making sure I've had a CD just before I do anything. I'm on SS+ so I have a lilttle extra if I know I'll be using a lot of energy - in a way I think your CDC is right - we're only getting enough energy to cover our basic needs.. but surely the answer is to do SS+ or 810 and then it needn't be an issue?

Good luck!

Hi I have an extra shake / bar / soup when I work out hard & not when I don't - If that makes any sense? Will have burnt of more the "extra" 150-ish cal's with the workout & theory is it will prevent my body eating the lean body mass as it can't burn the fat quick enough??? Not quite sure on the science but works for me. So 3x CD on a no work out day & 4 on a workout day (figure I probably need the extra nutrients).

Thanks for the suggestions! I've just cut my workout back 15min and drink a lot of water - so far it's working, no dizziness or anything, tho' the workout isn't quite as energetic as usual. I'll have to look at whether or not I could be using my lean muscle mass - I'll ask my CDC on Fri when I see her if I should be adding a shake. I don't get bars for another week or so. I'm hoping to keep working out - after all, low cal diet + cal burning exercise = more weight lost, right? (fingers crossed!)

I'm still amazed that with such a low calorie intake, I'm not famished. I confess however to going off 100% SS today - I had 4 stalks of celery - which luckily is very low in carbs and calories and hopefully won't have too big an impact.

Just thought of something.. there's an exercise specialist you can email via the Cambridge website.. she'll know best! I'm not sure the equation quite works of more exercise and less food is more weight loss.. I think it can mean muscle wastage, lethargy, and effect things like bone density and hair loss.. might be wrong but I imagine there's an ideal combo for fat loss.. but I wouldn't know what that ideal is.. the cambridge website exercise adviser might know more though..

good luck xx

Thanks for the info - I'll look them up. I have to say that today I've started to get really hungry - it's been rough so far. Am planning on having my last shake and curling up to sleep. Surely tomorrow will be better? Day 4 - ugh! :(

Thanks for your encouragement! Today has been better than yesterday - less hungry, drank more water. Also had a weigh-in today and l lost 6lbs. I know it's mostly water, but I'll take it! :)

The challenge now is to get through the weekend with no work to distract me. I suspect that I'll be doing a lot of house-cleaning and dog walking! :chores016:

I found the first weekend hardest.. for some reason I'm now springing out of bed first thing on a Saturday morning and thinking of all the fab things I can do with my day! It's late afternoon at work I'm struggling with.. weekends are (now) brilliant!

Good luck for today.. i was climbing the walls for my first weekend.. get out and enjoy yourself and you'll get through this! :)

It's a lovely sunny day so I'm going to ditch the house cleaning and go for a walk! :)
