Hi Everybody

I have only just discovered this forum and really wish that I had found it sooner!

I started LL on the 3rd January 2007 with a start weight of 13 stone 9lb - 5ft 7 and so far have lost 21lb. My weight has been fairly erratic which has been frustrating as I have stuck to it 110%:sigh: . My goal weight is 10 stone.

I have had a real problem the last week, craving food - it has been very difficult - thought it would get easier but sadly not - can anybody give me any tips to fight these urges to stuff my face?

I also have a problem of getting up in the night about 5 times to use the loo - is this normal?

Anyway really glad to have found this forum - hopefully it will get me through the next 8 weeks.

Btw - how do you get the weight ticker on your postings?

hi slim, of course you can join in here - its the best support you can ever get.

re. cravings..i hear you...yesterday was a very bad day...i was going crazy...however, come on this forum as much as you can (ppl here are so nice) and drink as much water as you can so you fill up your tummy. and yes it is normal to wee wee a lot even during the night (quoting my LLC)

Try and 'treat' yourself (like going away etc) when you reach your target weight. they will really motivate you.

re. ticker

Graphical Event Ticker for your Signature, Message Boards, Blogs and Web Page

create it and just copy it in your edit signature option.

welcome aboard!

Hello!
course you can join :D

Have you tried finishing your water earlier on - may help with not getting up sooo many times during the night, is that not making you tired coz you're not getting a proper nights sleep?

well done on your weightloss so far :p

Keep shaking :D

Hi Sharrie!

You will find all the support you need right here!
We will stop you stuffing ur face :D
I re-started a few days after you and have lost 25lbs despite being a st heavier than you so my loss has been slow.
I have lost 32lbs altogether as I started before xmas and had a few (planned) weeks over over the festivities!

Thanks everybody for replying - its really good to hear from you and know that it is normal to go through these ups and downs. I have weigh in tonight and am hoping for a good weight loss as I only lost 2lb last week which is sooo frustrating after being an absolute angel! Although I stopped drinking at 3pm I still feel bloated! My LLC says that I shouldn't be getting up 4/5 times in the night, she has said that perhaps I need to go to the doctors for blood tests, which is worrying me. She also says that 3lb is the average weight loss - so 2lb seems rubbish. Oh well just need to stay focused. I go away for a week on the 2nd March and am worried how I will cope, there is a big group of us, hubby is doing a marathon with friends and I am doing a 10k, then we have 2 1/2 days skiing - how do you do all that and not eat?

Anyway, thanks for being there by Wednesday I will have done 50 days! Yippee! Never thought I would get this far and stuck to it 100%.

Hi Sharrie!

Im doing a 13.5 mile one (not sure what that is in KM!) you should be ok as long as you stay hydrated and take some packs before you go.
Re. the weeing in the night, many patients come to me with these symptoms, the blood test your LLC is referring to is for diabetes, however, if you didnt go to the loo 5 times in the night before joining LL I wouldn't worry your body needs time to adapt to all the water.
Also if you were eating crap before with lots of salt/sugar you would have retained more water so not needed the loo as often.
Its unfair of her to benchmark you against others on the programme as you do not have a huge BMI anyway you will lose it slower.
Put it this way if you came into my surgery and said "Im weeing 5 times during the night and drinking 4ltrs of water plus" I wouldn't be worried unless you presented other symptoms of Diabetes :D
Hope that puts your mind at rest.

Glad you found your way here, you will find it full of info and very supportive ! I found that in the first few weeks of LL I was weeing all day long but now I go far less but when I go...I am there for ages ! Try to finish your water by 8pm if you can, it helped with getting up all night for me.
