citric acid in lemon yoghurt bars

Just discovered this evening there is citric acid in the lemon bars- I thought this was banned from ss and ss+ etc

Can anyone shed light on this

I have no idea, perhaps the amounts are just so minute they aren't considered detrimental. A mystery!
