My back is starting to spasm a bit :(....and I would like to take something to dull the pain.

Has anyone ever taken codeine on LL and how did it affect you?

I need something more the ibuprofin, but don;t want to go all

    thanks.

Oh dear, I hope it's nothing too bad? I don't think I can help re: the meds. Are you worried it will affect ketosis, or that it will be too strong? One thing I do know about codeine though is that it can cause constipation!

THanks MM and Claire. I am most worried about getting to groggy and not wanting to wake up at 5:30. It's horrible this backache.

I am pretty certain it has to do with a fatty cyst that is right about where my kidney is, but close to the spine. I think it needs to be removed but my GP was nervous about it because of where it is. Takes it outta me when i flares up! If I move just right (wrong), send my upper body into spasms and is so uncomfortable. I think I may need to get it sorted. This is about the 4th time it has happened in the last year. But hey ho - at least I am getting thinner - they can find it easier!! :D

make sure you drink loads to combat the dehydration that codeine gives you(and constipation) I sometimes retain fluid when I take codeine. have you tried rubbing in voltarol gel thats a little stronger that ibuprofen and the rubbing action may help with the pain. Yoga is also very good for sciatic pain if you stand with your legs slightly further apart than your shoulders, turn your toes inwards, bend and try to keep your legs straight while walking your fingertips through the gap in your legs. Only push it as far as you are comfortable with though but it does help to ease out the lower back and sciatic nerve.
