couch to 5k

Hi from a newbie :wavey:

Just wondered if anyone else had done the couch to 5k thing? for anyone who doesn't know it's a plan supposed to get any couch potato up to running 5km in 8 weeks, involving 3 half hour sessions per week gradually stepping up from alternating periods of running and walking.

I've tried and failed at so many things but I have a friend who started out like this a few years ago who is now gearing up for her first marathon!

Soooo I have just done my week one session one, which was 5 mins brisk walk, followed by 20 minutes of jogging for 60 seconds, walking for 90 seconds, with a 5 minute cool down at the end. It hurt I am just so unfit :cry:

The thing is, because it hurts I was likely (previously) to give up, but just now I am thinking.... well I *did* manage, so why not carry on and just *see*?

I feel a little embarrassed admitting how unfit I am that even jogging for a minute is difficult :(
