Counting calories

I was just wondering what most of you guys do-eat simply smaller portions or strict counting.
I really want to lose some weight and I started to eat smaller portions of food. Do you think this is enough? Is it really necessary to count all the calories I am eating a day? I really think that this would be very annoying. Thanks for you opinions!

Sam most pf us are on either LT or CD so not eating anything (except me becuase im rubbish at it). There are other parts of this site which calorie count etc maybe they would be able to give you a better answer hun.

Its pretty simple stuff - if you eat more calories than you need to maintain your weight, you gain weight. It doesnt get easier than that! If you use a tool such as WLR then it will take you 5 mins a day to log everything. Is 5 mins a day too much trouble to go to to lose weight?!
