counting carbs question help !

when counting carbs and looking at the nutritional values of the back of a food carton do you look at the total carbs
or the "of which sugars" bit ?

all this net carbs thing has me confused

yes i'm it the uk. but i dont get what you mean.sorry i'm very new to this

carbohydrate 1.7g <<< i look at this
of which sugars 0.2g << or this
 
You use the 1.7g, just whatever the carb content is ignore the sugars etc. The confusion arises really from the book which is american, and in america labels do not deduct fibre from the carbs to get what is called net carbs. In the UK fibre is already deducted from carbs on labels so what is stated as carb content on UK is net carbs as UK system has already deducted the fibre, which is what Dr A was on about in his (american) book.

So in short whatever the carb content says on the label is the net carbs
