Cup conversions

Hi..am new to slimmimg world, so not sure if this query is in the right place,...but I have a query about cup conversions...have a recipe for 1 1/4 cups of Arborio rice...what is this in gms please? Have googled it, but I have got really wildly varied answers.

I don't know if it matches any of the searches you found but I recall from way back that 1 cup = 4oz. Therefore, 1 1/4 cups = 5oz = 142 g.

If it helps a cup is equivalent to 250ml. You could measure 310ml in a measuring jug and weigh that?

Thanks for the replies...someone sent me the following link US Cups Conversion Table | Doves Farm....
By this, 1 1/4 cup would be around the 240gm mark...I think?? Which seems an awful lot...very confusing, think I will just stick to a recipe with gms...far less complicated!

Thanks cavegirl13...I made the recipe anyway and used 200gms which was for 4 and plenty with Arborio rice being that bit thicker as such
