Hi everyone, having a stress because my mate just won LOADS of money and has offered to take me out tomorrow night her treat to celebrate. She's lost a huge amount if weight on CD and looks amazing but now I feel like the fat friend!!

I have a night out booked next weekend so I was kind of hibernating til then to get a noticable amount of weight off. BUT I'm mega skint so the idea of a free night out is music to my ears :)

What I'm wondering is how much weight do u think we lose a day on this diet? I have no scales at home so I don't know, just i got weighed yesterday am and was 14 st 1. I rly wanted to be 13 something befor going out in public again!!
Think I would lose 2 lbs by tomorrow pm? How pathetic that 2 lbs makes all the difference but it's psychological isn't it!

I have a gorgeous new dress that FITS so don't even know why I'm bothered lol

So if any if u DO weigh yourselves every day, what kind of weight do you lose?

    Xx

you might not burn two pounds off but!! if you go for a long steady walk today (3 miles) and have a really hot bath tomorrow morning before you jump on the scales - you could be in for a nice suprise

Sounds good to me :) thanks!
I have a stepper at home so may hammer that too.

Mate I'm going out with is my inspiration for the diet....going from a size 16 to an EIGHT!!! I'm gonna have to work hard to look as hot as her tomorrow ;-)

    Um...

Please, please don't take this wrong...

But surely if your mate's lost loads of weight on CD, why is she suggesting taking you out tomorrow night when she knows how hard it is to stick to CD? Couldn't it, well, wait?

Forgive me - but it was that bit about you feeling like the 'fat friend' that rang alarm bells in my head. Because, d'you think it's even a tiny bit possible that she'd like to keep you as her fat friend?

Or am I being really really cynical - and your friend is actually really lovely and just not thinking straight...

To be honest I agree with Lily. I know your friend wants to celebrate but could she not do a spa day for you both or something? Surely it's about spending time together that is the driving factor? If you were an alcoholic would you be happy with her suggesting you go out to a bar so she can "treat" you? I'm not saying your friend is consciously trying to undermine you but subconsciously??? .... could very well be the case as she may well be comfortable with you in a certain role (and you seem to be aware of that role.. the "fat friend".

It's a case of deciding what is more important to you... part of this journey is learning to value ourselves and put ourselves first .. and no that's not the same as being selfish... it's about having boundaries and values about yourself that protect you from harm and ensuring those around you (friends, family, OHs, colleagues) recognise and respect those boundaries.

Maybe this is a time for saying to her "i'm really pleased you've hit goal and I know you want to celebrate but I really want to celebrate with you because I love you but as you know I am still on this journey and so maybe we can go to a spa instead and have a treatment and chill out in their relaxation room?".

    Just some thoughts......

    Hey ladies :)
I know exactly what you mean and I've thought the same, she knows how hard this is so she shouldn't have asked me. And I had told her how proud of myself I am for doing this 100% for 5 days.

Gonna have a think. Thanks ladies I really appreciate the advice...
I am no longer going to be the fat friend :)

One thing tho....at least I have bigger boobs now haha!! Xxx
