Water is critical to people on CD. You get a lot of water from the food you eat (I understand up to 50-60% of your daily intake). As we're eating packaged foods, we're not obtaining enough water. Also, as we're not eating a lot of carbs, we're low on fibre. As a result, we need 2.5+ (I drink 3+ ltrs) of water per day to make sure we stay hydrated and that all our organs, including our digestive tract, get the water they need to function properly. Losing weight very quickly increases the possible risk of developing gallstones, but having enough water can help prevent that as well. Not to mention, the water helps you feel full and flushes impurities out of your system.
