Day eleven..

Hi,
I have been following the total solution for eleven days - well almost, one more sleep. I have lost 13lbs, is this a normal amount?? I have found myself to be very tired in the evenings, again is this common? Does anyone have any advice about ways to stick at it is as weight loss slows down? Three shakes a day is bearable as long as the weight keeps coming off but otherwise I think I may struggle with it. Sahina:rolleyes:

this is normal, but will slow down, i felt best after 2 weeks as i was tired also for 1st 2 weeks. U can still expect to lose at least 2lb a week so it is worth sticking at it, i was annoyed at 1st when i only lost 2 but now i think iut is healthier, but then i lost 4 last week so it goes up and down, the only advice i can give u, is drink drink drink, if u get sick of the shakes make them as lollies they last longer, i love them like that in this weather. good luck

Hi Sahina, this weight loss is normal for your 1st 2 weeks. I lost 13lbs my 1st week and 10lbs the next and then it slowed down. It would not be healthy to lose weight at this rate week after week as the heart, for one, would not be able to cope as it would be working exceptionally hard to maintain the work load. You kidneys would start to fail as they try harder and harder and harder to cope as with you stomach, this is what happens with starvation, your body just shuts down. I am not a specialist in this field so all of the above is speculation but I am sure that is what would happen.

Just the fact that you are losing weight weekly should keep you motivated, be it 2lbs or 5lbs, ne happy, 2lbs is 2lbs, it is weight you would not have lost if you were not on this diet. Woman also lose slower than men so I do not want to compare my weight loss with the ladies but we all experience the slow down.

Hang in there, come onto the forum for whatever you are feeling and we try to give you the best support we can.

Thank you both for your replies. I don't enjoy weekends I think, too much time to think about it. Maybe I should stop weighing myself every day, but then the Wii would tell me off! Ice lollies is a good idea. I am having a hot milkshake now.
I suppose I know that it is ok to loose 2lbs a week. I was thinking that I could loose that on other diets which involve food but then that has always been my problem. Any level of flexibility and I cheat. I will go swimming today and expend extra calories. That should do the trick.
Thanks once again for your replies. Sahina

Good luck Sahina,

I think if you're anything like me (and many others who have opted for TFR) then other diets just don't work. I am so grateful to have found something that a) works and b) I can stick to. (This from someone who has tried every diet under the sun, along with numerous drugs, fillers and even strange Sensa that you sprinkle on your dinner!)

Keep going, treat yourself kindly - especially when the going gets tough (I come on here when my thoughts stray to food and drink)

Best wishes

Hi the smaller the loss it will stay off the bigger the loss if you start to eat like you did before it will come back on double just remember you are starving ur self your body will try to hold onto whatever it can to keep it self going x
