Dilemma!! URGENT HELP REQUIRED!!!!

I would say try and resist, or at the very least just have chicken or fish. What I do at times like this - which really helps - is to remember that it's not that you'll NEVER be able to have Chinese again. it's just that you can't have it for the next few months. That always helps me - honest! :)

Good luck with whatever you decide, and well done on the job - what is it?

xx

"Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels" thats what my cdc tells me, but at the end of the day its your choice,
personally I would avoid it because I could not miss out on the fried rice lol

I'm in the "don't do it" camp. I can only go on my own experience and I'm an all or nothing type of person. for years it's been ALL, that's why I am here  I'm on SS and I know that when I've cheated it hasn't stopped at one thing. So a chinese for me, would lead to more food the next day, probably! Everyone is different though :)

It's an interesting thread, one thing I like about this forum is that people can put across their varied opinions without it developing into a bunfight (as happens on some other forums I visit) :)

Congratulations on the new job Lucy and I hope that however you decided to celebrate you really enjoyed it :D

so? come on lucy tell us what you did : ) i am dying to know
and if you did eat chinese PLEASE describe every delicious mouthful to me in detail lol

I gave into my demons a couple of weekends ago and had a meal Friday night, which then turned into all day Saturday and Sunday!
I would rather not have that temptation, as I am not strong enough to just have the one meal and then go back onto SS'ing!!

How did you get on Lucy?? Did you have the meal? If so, how are you coping so far??

I sat through a chineese last night. Didn't touch even a grain. I think you've come so far do you really want one????

I agree with the others, this is a lifestyle changing diet, we must think of other things for a treat, new shoes, fancy new underwear, a beauty treatment. My treat yesterday for sitting through the chineeseeeeeeee was a bubble bath with a magazine, it was lovely and I know this morning it was worth it.

Please have strength, it's only one meal, think of how nice you'll look at your new job all skinny xx

were all dying to know what you did ??

Chinese or no chinese :D

Morning all!!! Well what a contreversial set of opinions!! And so helpful!!! I know I should not have given in but I did!! Before you all go mad at me I had already fallen off the wagon weeks ago and haven't managed to get back on! I wasn't even cautious about the carbs!!! And I had 4 Large white wines to wash it down with!

I don't feel bad this morning about it (apart from the wine!! But that's just a hang over!) And to be fair I don't think I have been in ketosis for weeks and weeks! I know I am bloody terrible but I am a size 12 for god's sake and 5 ft 9..... If I can't start enjoying little (lots of) luxeries now then I might as well just go back to my size 18 fat suit! I have so far this morning drunk2 litres of water to try and flush it out and weighed myself this morning and have not gained!!!

So for those of you that want the gory details here they come...... Vegetable spring rolls.... dunked in sweet and sour sauce..... sesame prawn toast........noodles with mushrooms and beansprouts! It was delicious!!!!! I am not going to feel guilty about it! I had FIVE HOURS of assesments yesterday for this job... having already had an interview a week for the past 3 weeks! I SSSOOOOOOO wnated and needed this job!!! and I will get my self back on track now because of this job but am gonna enjoy a few luxeries as BF has a bottle of Moet in the fridge for me as we speak!!

I love you all sooo much and I am sorry to dissapoint any of you that thought I should not have done it you are absolutly right I shouldn't have but this job was sooo important to me and such hard work to get that I felt I needed to unwind just for the night!!!!

xxx

Well Lucy!!

It sounds as if you had made your mind up, before you got the replies!!! Lol.

I hope that you had a good night. No one is thinking badly of you, I think the others were concerned that it could lead to more days off the plan than just the one night.

Congratulations on the new job too Hun - you deserve it and the chinese...just get back on track now before the weekend munchies move in!!!!

Take care

Kerry-Ann

:D I had to laugh reading through all the replies. Choosing whether to break or not on this diet always causes the two camps of "do" and "don't" to kick off!!!

At the end of the day, only Lucy knew all the facts. I don't think I read a reply from her anywhere until the end where she said she was SS, in ketosis, etc etc. As she was not in ketosis anyway, NooNoo was right in saying that the one meal would make no difference as her glycogen levels and associated water retention were already catered for.

One lesson for us all to take from this is that when you are eating normally, one meal does not make a difference in the grand scheme of things. It is when you eat "chinese" (for this substitute bad food :)) regularly that the problems begin ...... that is when the weight starts to creep back on - not from one meal every now and then.

Everything in moderation together with 2 litres of water a day (yes, even when you finish the diet), and exercise. THAT is the key going forward. It is what you eat 90% of the time that affects your weight, not what you eat the other 10% of the time.

Totally agree Steve, everything in moderation. My Mum has managed to combine a couple of special occasions in eating what she likes then going straight back to the diet - at the end of the day if you want it enough you will get back to it. It has always been part of my goal to get to a place after the diet where I have no guilt around food - just a sense of balance, i.e. if I want chocolate one day that's fine, but not to let it fall into a regular habit or make up for it with increased exercise etc. I think it's an important lesson to learn - most of the 'naturally' thin people I know eat what they like but have found a healthy balance.

I think that the great thing that CD, LL, or and VLCD gives to you is the "awareness" of what and why you are eating. Once you have that and you can work out if you are wanting to eat due to stress, boredom, lonliness, sadness etc then you can talk yourself out of it because you know that it is not really food that you need. Food is just the mask you are choosing to hide the problem, and it will not solve the problem at all - it will be still there when you have digested the food (that you did not need :)).

Eating for a celebration is fine - it is just eating for other "invalid" reasons that we need to be aware of and control. If we can do that, then we have the weight issue cracked.

I think anyone will agree that if they put on weight after losing it is because they ate the wrong things at the wrong time for the wrong reason. I know that I did. I was made redundant after 23 years and that made me turn to food. I knew what I was doing, but I still did it. I paid the price, but am dealing with it now. Luckily for me I caught it at 2 st, which is not so bad considering I lost over 7 st!!

Awareness and self-control ....... oh, and water!!
