Doctor programme help?

Hi. Thinking of starting this again. Did it quite a few years ago and did very well and lost 8 stone. I've put the weight on again and had a baby so looking to loose the weight.
I've read you can do this through your doctor? Has anyone done it through them before ?
How was it. Did you have to fight for it or was the doctor happy to help?
Is it cheaper than doing it through the pharmacy ?

Our local surgery use to do it , but it was still the same price as the pharmacy I did it with the Dr to start surgery decided not to do it any more and I moved to the pharmacy and to be fair I didn't notice any difference in the way it happened though ( other than I had to
