Doing 5:2 From Home ;D

I'm new and without sounding thick what's 5:2?? I've tried to read about it but I don't get it lol x

5 days you eat normally, on 2 days you eat 500 cals maximum :)
 
That's great new Jen - you will pick it all up in no time! Bet you know the job inside out its just getting used to the way different departments run finding out stupid stuff like where they store everything! I'm gonna be doing some bank work at a private hospital and just hate not knowing where everything is in an emergency!

Nearly at the end of another fast day - just had jacket potato with tuna and Sweetcorn it was amazing! Fingers crossed for a pound (or 2) loss tomorrow x

Gone from hospital to practice nurse so quite a lot to learn, lots of new clinical skills so I can't wait! Got baby clinic on mon and my own minor op clinic every wed afternoon. It's all the computers that are new too. Will get there hopefully xx

Just the 1lb loss, bit annoyed with that really. Altho, I'm not being super good on the up days so my own fault. I was hoping if I did 2 fast days, I could relax a little on the others, obv not. Not gone mad at all, never more than 1300-1400 calories.

Back at original target weight of 11 stone but have set a new target of 10 so a way off yet!

Are you going to attempt another week of 5:2?? Well done on the 1lb - I know it doesn't 'seem' like much, but don't forget you've already lost an incredible amount of weight, so your losses probably will slow down a bit, and considering the flexibility of 5:2, even a loss of 1lb a week would be great if you keep at it a while :) xx
 
Well I stayed the same booooo! My other half cracked open a bottle if cider for me last night though as he wanted to give me birthday pressies early so I'm defo blaming that (managed to not touch a drop since Saturday which is a miracle for me haha but was hoping that would make a difference on the scales)) I am a little disappointed as I know I'm not gonna lose next week either - out tonight and styling n a Hotel so. Will mean nice breakfast in the morning:) my actual birthday Tomorrow so will end up eating out and drinking again no doubt! Will just ave to try and be saintly through the week I guess! Really want to start running again so maybe ill get my arse in gear and start that next week - prove that I can still do it now I'm 30 haha! Hope everyone has a fab weekend - well done to those who have lost an onwards and upwards for those of us that haven't:)
 
I know, I suppose I was just really hoping for a 3-4lb loss. I know I haven't been 100% so any loss is pretty good. Feels weird tho cos I am actually happy with the way I look, clothes size etc (not complaining being a 10-12) but I just want to be lighter. To enter my stats on a website and not have it say 'you need to loose weight' stupid really. I don't know. I actually thought the other day that my neck/chest was looking too bony, didn't like it at all. I just want to loose my tummy so maybe exercise is the way to go. 5:2 definitely helped me loose even tho I had chocolate, cake, biscuits on up days so pretty good! Had a headache past couple of days tho, haven't had fast since mon so not sure if it's related or not? Might just be delayed stress from new job.

Don't apologise haha, I understand!! Defo think you should hold off on losing anymore if you're happy with the way you look! Don't forget that BMI is wildly unpredictable as it doesn't take into account muscle weight, excess skin from weight loss etc etc etc... If you're lowering your target now just to see the numbers 'look right' then it's defo not the best thing for you to be doing - maybe try another week of 5:2 (though, perhaps just try one fast day so you hold off from losing much??) and take the time to really think about how you feel about your body and if losing more weight will really make you feel better about yourself - I reckon you're right though and exercise would be best for you! Even just little bits like a few reps of stomach crunches, weights etc every other day or so to get a little bit more toned might make all the difference :)

Oh and as for headaches... I don't know - Fasting really set off my migraines in a bad way (even on days I wasn't fasting!) so I suppose you just have to keep an eye on it - it could be that xxx
 
I agree with laura!! do WEIGHTS! best thing ever. Muscle burns fat. More muscle more fat burn and a toned body which looks slimmer then what you may weigh. When you get down to target, if your exercising regularly maybe you should focus more on measurements then weight :)

P.S 1lb is still a good loss! :)

Cant believe i managed 2 hours at the gym having not eaten since the day before! I had bags of energy and loved every second of it!
 
Hi, I agree with what some of the others said about 1lb being a good loss - it really is. Try to not get too fed up with it. Good luck.

I’m a 34 year old girly

I’m 5ft 8ins

I currently weigh 10st 1lb

I work in an office and have a desk job but spend so much of my time out of my seat going up and down stairs etc i actually dont sit down for very long. Other than that I do very little exercise other thsn starting to do the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred around 3-4 times a week

I've just 'bumped' the thread on everything you need to know about JUDDD ( aka 5:2). That will probably give you some help on cals on non-fast days including not going too low on your cals. There's some good advice on there. I read through it all before I started and did some research on the Internet which helped me get my head around it.

I think you are restricted until you have a certain number of postings. I couldn't put a picture on until I had done 50. You probably have to get more posts to get more access. Have you tried google on it?
