Don't you just hate it when....

Dyjhiw you know no one understands or agrees with a choice you've made and as a result you have no one to offload to when you need it :(

Have you ever tried peeing on pink water, it's just not right:(

It's like coloured toilet roll - now that's just wrong too! Lol

When you release you got yourself in to a lot of debt of credit cards and can't realise how!?
Does anyone have any ideas I can use to get rid? :-( losing sleep past few nights as I suddenly realised.

Hugs (((---)))
Start by chopping them up so you can spend anymore. Gather all the information together and work out the priority based on apr. write a generic letter to each company saying that you are having problems and will pay a small amount(whatever you can reasonably afford)each month. Look on Martin Lewis' MoneySavingExpert site for more info. The sooner you take action, the sooner it will stop spiralling!

Have you tried looking at the mpneysavingexpert website. Lots of useful advice on there :)

Kelly try the Martin Lewis site I think it's Money saving expert or something (on phone or I'd do you a link), they have loads of really good advice and people in the same boat. My only advice would be to transfer it all onto a zero interest card (if they still do them) or a low interest one and pay as much money as you can at it, when the zero interest term ends transfer it again if necessary.
Oh and cut up the cards, even the one you're using to pay off.
Good luck sweetie xxx

I'd agree transfer to 0% balance transfer. If you go on moneysupermarket.com it has details of the best 0% deals at the mo. Once set up arrange to pay the minimum or as much as you can possibly afford by direct debit. Set yourself a reminder to switch to another 0% deal about 1 month before the 'new' one expires.

Change your thought process from 'being in debt' & panicking to 'this is the long term plan'. Once you can see it will all end in x months/years you'll start to feel much better.

I was a specialist money/debt adviser for 6 years for Citizens Advice so I can give you some help.

If it is just credit cards these are called non priority debts. This is because they can't do anything such as evict you from your home or cut off your utilities.

You need to do a financial statement with all your out goings. There are things called trigger figures that have been agreed with creditors as reasonable spending in certain areas such as housekeeping and travel. If you go over these without good reason a creditor may not accept your offer of payment.

On the statement you will need to list all of the debts. With your disposable income you will work out offers to make to the creditors. Depending on how much you have left this can either be a token payment of £1 a month or a prorata based on how much each debt is.

If you are after a more permanent solution there is something called a Debt Relief Order which is a good alternative to bankruptcy.

If you want to know anything else just ask :)

Thank you all for your help with my debts. Ive got my car up for sale at the moment, and If I get what I ask for it I can pay off my credit cards and still have few grand for another car. It's all very depressing these days isn't it. :-(
I was originally selling the car to keep the extra money as savings so I can be a SW consultant next year maybe. But I would rather clear these cards and feel a bit lighter with the burden esp as I've told no one cus my OH will go mad (got into the same prob bout 18 months ago :-( )
Managed to top up my loan I had to buy my cat with to clear them.
Any hoo sorry to put a dampner on anyone's day but thank you all for your help! Really appreciate it. :) xx

DYJHIW you start to panic in tesco because you can't find chocolate philli?! And you can't see the labels for it a wonder if it's discontinued..... And then you see it on the end of the aisle because it's buy one get one free and feel a right numptey :D thankfully I didn't ask where it was (right behind me, d'oh!) xx
