I'm new myself but I think it's if the syn values are different on red and green then you count the lower one. So basically you can eat food that was free on red or green have one HEA and HEB each day and make sure you fill one third of your plate at each meal with superfree food. I don't understand the science behind it but hope it does work because that's what I started doing last Monday! :p
It is still promoting healthy eating though isn't it - especially with the third of your plate rule and making you think about syns so much - perhaps that's the secret ;)
