Have a look in the food diary sub forum.

The big losses to begin with is more to do with the switchover from a very fatty high calorie diet to a controlled diet like slimming world. When your body encounters the shock of lack of calories it starts to eat up other fuel reserves. Ideally fat, but in the first couple of weeks the body has other options, such as proteins and carbs within you first, but if you are already on a diet before you switch over, you wont get that loss, in fact if you are on a diet that restricts carbs or a very low calorie diet you could even gain within the first few weeks as your body readjusts back to normality.

'water weight' its what can come right back when you drop off your eating plan (and disappears again the following week when you get back on)

So, those big losses at the beginning arent really big losses from losing fat, that kicks in soon after when does supplies are exhausted.

I got to target and have stayed there for 12 months. Trust us, it does work beautifully. Its really by far the best weight loss plan, well I and a lot of others think so. Good luck, and we are all here to help :)

Yes iam aware that the large losses are usually down to water retention,
i just want a good loss to kick start my mood, but its ok, as long as its less. I will be happy.

Just wondered where you got your heA quantities from as skimmed milk is 350ml a day not 100ml, and I'm certain phili is alot more than 35g. Also are you sure you're eating enough x

iam aware iam not using my full HE allowances, struggling to do so if am honest, might have a bit more milk via a few brews not listed but certainly isnt 375ml. i know i can have upto that. do i have to ensure iam having it all?

as for the philli, the small snack pot sized tubs are 35g and i can actually have 2 a day on HE-A, but was only having one.
i feellike all iam doing is eating, constantly because as i previously said, i have strange eating history and often only manage 2 meals a day.

is this all really still not enough?

thank you, if you have time can you take a look at my diary. my weight has peaked at 17st this week and i am serious about getting it down.my average is usually about 15st however recent sadness in my life and ive turned to food for comfort.
you are clearly an expert and id value your opinions.

If you are 17st and 100% on plan, the diet will work really well for you. I promise.

I can absolutely confirm that it works, trust it..
My typical day when I started was...

2 or 3 eggs, scrambled for breakfast with a banana, nectarine and my HeB of alpen light bars...
Can of beans or cous cous and tuna for lunch with a couple of plums and / or an apple.
Full roast chicken dinner for tea.. ( roast potatoes, roast carrot, roast parsnip, chicken breast, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks, and sprouts or green beans with 2 syns of gravy )
HeA of milk in tea and coffee ( splash in my eggs )..
And 5-10 syns of whatever I fancied..

I lost 8lbs weeks 1 and 3..
I cut down what I ate week 2 and only lost 1lb.. so don't fall for that trap...

I've lost nearly 17st now to get to my target so it definitely works...

375ml of skimmed milk for an A choice
Kraft, Philadelphia Extra Light, 25g 1 1/2 syns or as an A choice its 2 x 35g tubs of phili light

I dont see a lot of superfree with your meals or if you are having them are you having at least 1/3 of your plate filled with them? You may not be eating enough.

HE-A) 100ML Skimmed milk
HE-B) 2 x weetabix
- Natural 0% yogurt, frozen red berries = 0 SYNS
- Mackrel in tom sauce, cous cous = 0 SYNS
- Pasta in passata, lean mince, onion, topped with cheese.= 8 SYNS
Total = 8 SYNS
Where is your superfree with your main meal? pasta is a free food not a superfree, your mince is free not superfree, where do the 8syns come from with this meal?

I think you need to break down your meals onto a diary and put it in the thread along with other peoples diaries.
ie
Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
snacks

It will be easier for people to help you. If your not eating enough this could hinder your losses. Sorry if it sounds like im being harsh but were here to help you

my super free food was packed into the cous cous that i mae and packed with veg, as for the pasta dish, i went to a SW friends house for tea (whos lost 3 st) and she said she ate this all the time, i asked her what she'd syn the cheese topping as and she used a regular cheese and she said we better be safe than sorry and say 8?!
to be fair the order of the foods where the orders of the meals, due to the shifts i was working on those days.sometimes i eat my main meal at dinner time.
i have upped my superfree food by the latter of the week i thought.

"Pasta in passata, lean mince, onion, topped with cheese.= 8 SYNS"

If you are using lean mince, and not extra lean mince, you need to double those syns to 16 syns.

I cant believe the amount of food we can eat on this plan - so just be patient and stick with it, it will work for you. If your going to a class the consultant will tell you if you attend for 4 weeks (I think it is) and dont lose they will refund your money. They have not refunded yet lol.

Could you still make a diary and maybe post some pics of your meals. Be careful with your meats as I noticed your mince is not extra lean so more syns

i just asked my friend what she'd syn that meal as.she told me 8. i have just realised i need to syn lean mince!
its tricky when i didnt cook the meal, it was just lean not super lean.

This is always the case when someone else cooks for you unfortunately. You will get the hang of it eventually. Once you join a class you will have all the books and tools to hand to help you. Maybe that will put your mind at ease a little.
