***firming 'astonishing abs' friday***

CG -

Over by Lakenheath is Mildenhall and Feltwell. Between those bases and Brimingham are Molesworth and Alconbury.

He and I were texting yesterday -- and it was unusal but he was texting back. I wrote long texts and got one or two words back -- ex. me: "Did you get the shoes I ordered and had sent?" Him: "yeah, thx."

Then I write 2 pages about running into the mother of a friend of his and our having coffee and a chat and he writes back: "Cool."
if I get a response to an email it is about the same. I'll call my neice's when I think he might be there -- and she makes him talk to me. LOL I saw him online on Skype -- but he was chatting with his friends and would not answer my call. He has been not much for family since he was about 12 years old. He has missed out on a lot and made thing difficult at times. But, I guess he is not that different from a lot of boys his age.

He was born in New York -- but we moved to Europe when he was three. So, he has lived in England and Germany, then England again.

Typical teenage boy there then hey! I however talk for England, not that I'm a teenager anymore, or a boy, so that actually had no relevance in this conversation! Like I said, I talk for England! lol

Wow, you've done a fair bit of moving around. I take it that's something to do with the Air Force?

CG -- My husband works for the US Gov't on contract. He's been assigned to military installations mostly. However, there are peope who do his job that work elsewhere, too. It is better for us to be near an American base -- my son was in the American school, it is nice to access to the shops, and cultural things. So, we have our feet in both worlds.

MM

I think I have a tiny bit of american in me because I'm obsessed with some american things! I think I need a trip to the states to bring back a whole suitcase of things! Things like big red, razzles, lucky charms, pop rocks... i can't think what else at the moment. It's the same with some Australian things too. And suddenly I see why I'm so fat! Ha.

CG -- I used to bribe a "naughty" boy at the school where I worked with Big Red. If he was good in a lesson and completed his work -- I'd give him either Big Red or Jolly Ranchers.

MM

I don't know why I've ever had big red or razzles, or even lucky charms! But I have, and so had to get them specially. I wonder if they were in stores here for a while but didn't take off but were around long enough for me to get to like them! I used to make my friend in the states regularly send me batches of Big Red in return for me doing some design stuff for him every so often!

I wonder if they make sugar free Big Red? Hummm.

CG

I changed my avatar and signature photo. Do you think it is true that people look like their dogs?

MM

Hmm I wonder.

Haha no, you look lovely! Not that your dog doesn't!

Thanks -- the dog is actually very cute.

I just changed the pictures and realised that we both had similar hair styles, were blond and even posed sort of similarly. LOL

MM

What kind of dog is it?

CG --

She is a Yorkshire terrier (pure breed but no papers). She has the floppy down ears, and is very blond (her mum's name is Honey because she is the same colour). She is a big yorkie -- 12 pounds -- but not fat, just a bigger dog. She is very good natured and intelligent. We got lucky.

MM

Aww, I thought she was, she's lovely. I really want a Westie. When I'm settled in a house somewhere I'll possibly get one :) They're lovely.

Hi CG -- That is so funny. We are thinking about getting a second dog -- and I want it to be a Westie. They are so lovely. Neya (my dog) has some Westy "friends" in the neighbourhood. They are so well behaved.

MM

They're adorable! I love them. I love labradors too, but they just take up so much space. Whereas a westie in nice and small and cute!

Yeah, and labs shed A LOT!

And need huuuuge long walks all the time!

My last dog, Tom was a Labrador. Sadly I had to have him put down as at young age of 4yrs because he had a huge mass in his stomach. I miss him terribly. He was huge though, big boned.

I'd love another dog. But after I lost Tom I took to my cats, then she got pregnant and had kittens and now I have 5 cats . And I could never get rid of them. I love the bones of them. So I'll have to wait a bit me thinks!

Picture of him when he was about 8mths old!

Numnums --

I am sorry your sweet puppy had such a short life. I am a cot person by nature. We got the Dog for DD -- but she is really more mine than hers.

I see a resemblance between you and your pup. The dark and brooding look. I am beginning to think that people do choose pets that are similar to themselves.

I wonder if it is a "chicken and egg" thing? What comes first? Maybe I should get a Whippet -- then I will end up being long and lean.

MM

Yeah, Labradors do have a very deep look about them lol. Oh I really do miss him. I sobbed a little bit today which helped as I been quite emotional as of late.

I might look into getting another dog, smaller breed though when my daughter can walk and son starts nursery so I can walk it to school with me in the morning as no dogs allowed passed the gate and I hate to sign him in every day lol.
