hi there, for past month now I have been deciding on joining my local SW class, currently I have just been doing it myself and have lost 12lbs in my first 4 weeks, but after reading a lot of info and good posts on here and looking at the recipes I have decided that this wedensday I am going to bite the bullet and join my local class,

what will I expect to find at first class, how much? and also what books would anyone suggest to get, also will I get a lst of syn values of what to have for my 15 syns per day

very excited to start this n nothing will stop me on Wednesday :)

    Welcome to SW!

Your consultant will take you through the plan and give you your books while everyone else weighs in. Then its image therapy where everyone gets a chance to talk about their week and how its gone. If someone is struggling the rest of the group can give suggestions for what they might do differently. People get their awards and Slimmer of the Week is announced. Then the consultant will usually give a talk eg it chinese new year so it might be about chinese takeaway foods or fakeaways to make. Then the raffle will be drawn and everyone goes home, and the newbies pay and weigh in if they've decided to go ahead and join.

It's half price membership just now so £5 plus £4.95 for the weekly class fee. That will get you your starter pack including all the basic info about the plan, and you'll get a PIN number that you can use to register on the SW website and access all the online resources. You might want to get the new mag which members get at reduced price of £1.95. There will be hi-fi cereals bars if you want to buy them and recipe books too. SOme good ones are Taste of Asia, Family Feasts on a Budget and the new Extra Easy Express one. Buy you don't have to buy the as there are loads of recipes available on the web and groups like this one.

Check out the recipe sub-forum on here and you'll find the scotch egg recipe too :)

I make scotch eggs a lot, great for packed lunches etc. hard boil your eggs, remove the skin from some raw low fat sausages (I tend to use Sainsburys be good to yourself or WW), then wrap the sausage meat around each egg - I usually use one and a bit sausages per egg, roll in smash (dry smash that is, straight from the packet) or I have crushed up a cracker bread and rolled in that. Then just bake in oven for 20 mins or so until sausage meat is cooked through. There are a few variations but they are very low syn as the egg is free and the sausages are pretty low. Have a good look through this site, I've found so many scrummy recipes and useful tips, have a look at Pete's Recipes, they are fab xx

Its my first time doing a group weight loss, before I have tried numerous ones on my own and have failed miserably. I have just had to meeting so far and I'm really enjoying it, had a good weight loss the first week 4 lbs down but this week only 1/2 lb:confused:. But i was given really good advice by my consultant so was going great guns yesterday but woke up this morning with the worst back pain I've had in ages, so I'm high on codeine now and have had to chocolate bars already! Not good!
