flavourings and colourings

I know this may be a stupid question, but want to make sure. Do flavourings (such as mint or vanilla in those little bottles) and colourings add any syn value to your dishes?

My example is... I would like to try the syn free ice cream recipe I saw on this forum, but was thinking maybe changing it a bit to use green food colouring and mint flavouring to make a refreshing mint ice cream?

I'm going shopping tomorrow to get an ice cream maker... I have wanted to get one to make the kids ice-cream, but now i can make me some too!

And as for the choc..I was thinking of crumbling some matchmakers into it, as they are only 1 syn a stick....yummmmm
