Since I started CD I have become (even more) addicted to food telly and recipe books! I've Vplussed the Celeb Masterchef and the Supersizers programmes, and am catching up on those of an evening, and have got one of my Nigella books out to read all the lovely recipes! Today I found myself seeking out restaurant reviews and sample menus for favourite and 'must-try' restaurants.

Am I weird? :eek:

Nope, not weird. I go through my recipe books to see what I can have/change. My recipe books take up 2 shelves on my bookshelf. I sort of collect them, to the amusement of my friends and family. It's all photographed so beautifully...think my drool might short my keyboard!

i collect recipe books, but my worst habit is recipes in magazines.....i buy a mag, cut out the recipes i like, and then stick them in my recipe books......i now have 3, with varying recipes in! I love it, my nan used to collect cuttings from newspapers when she was a mum and we still have those, so this is something i will pass down to my daughter when she is older!
I love all food programmes and regularly sky+ them and then write the recipes in my books.....
but then to be honest, i've been doing it for a while...
I currently have an A4 book with all my low fat/SW/WW recipes in!

yep, I have a cuttings folder and a little notebook full of favourite recipes, like my nan's shortbread. Now that's a dangerous non diet item.

Exactly! They're full of butter and sugar - I get requests fromthe people at work. I've told them I cant make them if I cant eat them!

I would be glad to sample some for you...ha ha! Not until I am in maintenance tho!
I actually make cheesecakes and things for people in work - it honestly doesn't tempt me at all...in fact, it tends to make me feel quite full and sick - weird!

I'm the same! I am on week three and have always sat and watched Masterchef, then think..oh, this is a bit strange! I am already ewanting to seek out nice recipes that are esp lov in carbs to have when i am eating again! xxx

Mmm, cheesecake. My aunt made key lime pie a couple of weeks ago. Gorgeous! So glad I started the diet afterwards and not before!

i have bought loads of cookery books since doing this and am always taking cakes etc to friends! Hubby now has some lovely homemade meals made by moi and the kids get things like poached egg on toast for breakfast instead of toast and marmite!

OMG that is so me i am always making yummy food for my hubby and kids but i also buy hubby ice cream and goodies he thinks its great

Looool I do this too..my DD is 14months and today I made her jacket potato with cheese and beans. She had like 3 spoonfuls then rejected it....she doesnt know what shes missing!

It was my eldest sons 14yh d-day yesterday and inlaws come up so i made a load of mexican food chocolate fudge cake they all tucked in a in had my soup lol

OMG thank goodness its not just me! Thought I was a wierdo! I love looking thru my recipe books, I find it difficult to cook without a recipe although my hubby can throw a wonderful meal together just by grabbing a few random ingredients grrr although he has said he hates cooking just for himself so is eating simple stuff at the mo, he is annoyed that I weigh less than him now too :)

I really want to weight less than my OH! Need to lose at least 3st though. You can follow a recipe - all you need to do is think about the ingredients - add stuff you think might taste nice with it! You know what you like to eat, have a practice. What have you got to lose? X
