From WW to Slim and Save!

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to Minimins. I've been doing weightwatchers for the last 14 weeks and I've lost 2stones 3lbs. But i'm getting to the point where I think I know it all and find myself cheating and not weighing things like I should and sneaking extra points in. So I've been reading all about the Slim and Save on Minimins and really like the sound of it.

Ordered a weeks worth of packs yesterday and just had an email to say they'll arrive between 12pm-1pm today, so I'll just drink water until then so I can start today....really excited to start!

I'm not expecting a massive loss in the first week because I'll already have lost the water weight from dieting for the last 14 weeks. I'm hoping to lose more than 2lbs a week, because I could achieve that on WW...is that possible?

Box has just arrived....it's so tiny for a weeks worth of food! There are no instructions in the box or written on the packs. How do I make up the shakes and meals? Help!

Edit: Messaged the Slim and Save peeps, they are so helpful - got back to me straight away.

Day 1 flew by. Packs = Strawberry Shake, Truffa Bar, Spag Bol and Vanilla Shake. (Liked everything but Vanilla Shake)

Day 2 today. Packs = Sweet Porridge (Was ok), Still to have: Lemon Bar, Mushroom Pasta and Hazlenut Shake.

I think I'm going to enjoy the diet, I feel as though I'm drowning from the inside from all the water I'm drinking though!

Day 3 already! I love this diet, the mushroom pasta that I had for tea last night was gorgeous (added extra button mushrooms) what a treat!

Today's plan: Muesli Bar, Mushroom Soup, Spicy Spag, Choc Shake (Hot for bedtime)

Hi treacle moon? You're doing well. Keep up the good work. :)

Sounds like your doing great stick with it :)

It'll be worth it. X

Mushroom soup was awful, so made the tomato chilli....both ended up in the bin! Third time lucky with the vanilla caramel shake...yum! Roll on day 4 tomorrow :)

Day 4 done and dusted, yay! Bought a shaker from Argos today (£1.99!...bargain) it has a metal whisk type ball inside and has good reviews, purchase was prompted by my very lumpy chocolate shake for breakfast! Loved the flavour though. Also tried the Hazelnut shake...not keen.

Had a two egg and mushroom omlette for tea....lush! Think I'm switching to 3 packs and protein meal rather than the four packs....makes it easier to enjoy tea with the family.

Day 5 already! Feeling great. Had a banana shake for breakfast, shaken in the shake blender I bought yesterday.....has made the shakes taste 100% better. If anyone is whisking by hand like I was....grab one of these cups in Argos, fantastic buy for £1.99.

I've bought the children to the local farm park so we've packed a picnic, I've made a little pot of lettuce leaves and tuna, I'm worrying it might be a bit dry without dressing but I'll cope :)

Sounds like you're going great guns so far. The first couple of weeks are all about getting into a routine and finding the packs that you like. Sounds like you're liking enough of them to give you some decent variety going forward. I've got one of those hand shakers too although not from Argos. They're an essential bit of kit if you make the shakes up and don't have access to a blender. You can also alternate between having 4 packs or 3 and the protein meal so whatever suits you on a particular day. I love the way the diet is flexible like that.

Fingers crossed for a good WI for you this week xx

Thanks Bordersgirl, I can't wait to weigh in :)

Day 6 today, it has really gone so quick. I think it really helps when you're kept busy, the kids, OH and the dog help with that, I never get a spare minute for myself! Planning the Red Fruit Shake for breakfast, a bar for lunch, 100g chicken and some salad for tea and another milkshake for supper. I really need to drink more water though, was really good the first two days but now it's becoming a struggle.

Can Coke Zero and Peppermint Tea count towards your 2.5-3 litres of water? I like drinking these and it's so much easier that glugging gallons of water.

I drink the water plus my coke zero and shakes keeps the headaches at bay for me without the water id serioslu have a headache 24/7

sounds like your doing great !!! when do you weigh ?

Thanks Munchbunch, I weigh in on Tuesday. I'm having to get used to the Coke Zero, I've drunk Diet Coke for years and Zero tastes so different. I'm going to make an effort to drink all my water today because there's nothing worse than a headache when you have loud kids!

I used to do ww , then i came off and they changed it to pp which i couldnt get my head around to be quite honest i liked the old points system !!

I know what you mean with the coke zero , it does take some getting used to but now id rather have the coke zero now =)

my kids drive me bonkers at times hehehe its all good though we will get there your doing super well i bet your looking forward to weigh day ??!!

Going from ww to this is a massive difference in your daily intake so you should have a great loss this week =)

hi just wanted to say your doing really well- it is amazing how fast it goes by and how quickly you get used to it.
i have just ordered a shaker off the internet- i have been using my mini blender, but having one or two shakes a day its becoming a nuisance to take apart, wash, put back together just to use it a few hours later, and not convenient went out and about.
i have heard that you can have asda diet coke, which i find nice- i brought a 12 pack of mini bottles and fill them up from a 2litre bottle - it feels like a treat and keeps me going if im craving something yummy :)
good luck with weightloss x

I'm pretty sure that most people look at it as a 'liquid' target so include tea etc. in their daily target. I know I do :).

I used to have a Dr Pepper Zero if I had drunk 3L of water, however the Dr Pepper Zero made me bloat so not touched it again :p Sounds like your doing really well :)

xo.

Thanks girls. I've started to hate water already! But I really like Peppermint tea with a tablet sweetener in it, I may have to count these towards my daily litres. Do you think drinking so much water all of a sudden will do anything to the kidneys, it must be a shock to mine because I always forget to drink and used to have one drink a day most days. Just made fairy cakes with the children, the smell of fresh cakes in the oven has made me really want one but I know it will soon pass.

I always find it tough when I do cooking with my daughter. But I love watching her lil face as were spending time together cooking she loves it, that's more satisfying than any cake possibly could be!

Keep going strong honey, I've been adding sugar free juice to my water and its not affected my losses and makes it easier to drink the amounts I need to drink x x x

Kidneys will be fine I'm sure. Our 'normal' food contains a lot of water. This is to replace water that we're not getting through our food.
