FROZEN CHIPS .....? Confused.com

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me if I cook frozen chips the S/W way are they free or not ?

    no hun.you have to syn frozen chips.
    sw chips are just homemade chips cooked in the oven

    Nope unfortunately not as there is fats and oils added when they are made. I think the low fat ones aren't too bad but you really are better off perfecting the SW chip!

    Has anyone tried to freeze SW chips after the boiling stage?
    I hate having to peel pots and would rather do a load at once.

    I do this a lot to save on prep time and they turn out fine cooking from frozen. Just make sure they're dry before putting them in the freezer.

    I dont peel them just chop, steam then bung in the oven - jacket chips!!!

    mccains rustic skin on chips are 10 syns for the whole back which is 1kg if you dont want to cook your own. we have them in the freezer for back up

    I have a potato crinkle chipper, I just chop the spud skin-on and whack it right in the oven with sprinkled oregano and fry light for 25 mins. I don't bother with the par boil, you don't really need it. My chips rule and you want them! :p
