I am so bored with this diet - actually scratch that, I am not bored with the diet, I am bored with the regime.

I am doing a week and a half of week one, to coincide with WIs. So am although been on RtM a week now, still have until Friday before moving onto week 2.

My OH has just had some chocolates (Christmas leftovers), I had to have my banana custard. My OH has chilli or chinese or whatever he likes for tea, I am stuck with a small salad with a little bit of protein, the only variety I have available to me is a piece of chicken or a piece of fish or shell fish.

For the first time on this diet, I really feel like chucking the whole thing in, and just going back to eating like a normal person. By the end of this I will have given 6 months to the diet - a small amount of time in the grand scheme of things, but just feel like losing the rest by following a healthy eating regime coupled with exercise.

I really don't know if I can bothered with the whole thing anymore!

I would really like to give you some fab advice corey but iv struggled so much since moving to RTM. i Havnt had one day yet when I have stuck to it completly. Its so depressing.
I just want you to know that your not the only one struggling :(

Oh guys - i know where you are both coming from.

Trekking to and from hospital (1 1/2 hrs each way) to see my mum has left me exhausted and today i fell off the wagon (again) and ate some fast food.:break_diet:

I am lucky that since my 2lb gain (i weighed myself the other day at home) i have lost 1lb so am within 1lb of my last WI. If I abstain again (save for my light evening meal) i should be able to shift another pound or so by wednesday.

The timing of all of this has been very bad for me. I am so desperate NOT to gain weight. I have to stick it out or i shall be back to square one and i did not like myself there.

We all need some fortitude and a bleeding good rollocking!!!:sign0007::psiholog:

Hi Corey,
I know how you feel, this whole reintroduction programme can get a bit tedious, but trust me, as you go into the third week, the options open up loads and each new food tastes amazing. Rather than giving it up, why not discuss doing a speeded-up version like Alibongo did with your LLC? That would then keep you on the straight and narrow and at the same time you could be reintroducing a wider range of food each week.
Also, don't forget that physical hunger will now be returning as well as its buddy: cravings. Maybe that is part of the confusion you're experiencing? Hope you make the right decision for you!

im no gud at this sort of thing but are you happy with your current weight ? if so why not come of it and eat healthy,i no its easy to say but iv been tempted with that prospect a few times!! lol xxx

Stick with it. I really feel that this part of the diet is the most important.

I know when I did the Cambridge equivalent to RTM, I whinged for England, but I'm so glad I saw it through to the bitter end. Over the years, I've heard so many people say they regret giving in at this stage.

I was desperate to move on and try my own thing. A part of me felt that I had learnt enough to go it alone, but deep down I knew that I had talked myself out of doing the right thing so many times. It was the first time I had ever got even close to target. The diet had worked when I thought nothing would. I had to trust it to the end. I couldn't really trust my chatterbox, it had led me up to many wrong paths:eek:

You've done so well, and now you can see the finishing line. Bored of the race now when the end is in sight?

So turn this around. Don't think of what you can't have. Think of what you can. Still boring? More boring than just shakes?

And if all else fails and you still hate it, do it anyway;) This is probably the hardest part, one that really challenges. This is where you put all you have learnt into practice, and that includes sticking to what you set out to do;)
KD is so right, yet again :D, I cocked up the CD maintence stages big time, and to be totally honest, it cocked up everything, 2 years doen the line, whilst Im a stone or so over where I want to be, this time I will see it to the bitter end, believe me, you dont want to be unhappy afterwards, if you felt like I do 2 years on then you would stick with it, come on, you have done so well. Its not long out of your life to be where you want to be, just wish someone had given me my advice the first time round. I didnt quite understand how important it was x

I would really strongly advise not giving up on RTM.
It really does set you up for going it alone.
Also, you need to gradually bring up your metabolism, if you go straight into eating 'normally' you will gain weight. Your metabolism can't cope with eating that much just now.
Yes, at the beginning it can be quite dull, once you get to week 4, it all changes when you can start cooking your fruit and veg.

Why are you doing 1.5 weeks of week 1? I know you say to coincide with WI but there is no real reason to do that. My WI is on Mondays and my change over is Friday. I would just move on to week 2.

Like linze said I did a condensed version, which will help.
What I did was weeks 4&5 and 6&7 together, what you do is week 4 for the first 3 days then swap to week 5, etc.
They don't like you to mix the trigger weeks, but then when you get to them, there is so much you can have that I didn't find it a big deal.
If you are really struggling then why not condense 2&3 as well, it is better than giving up completely.

Everyone I have spoken to who did not complete RTM or equivalent have gone on to regain their weight. I don't think it is worth it for just a few more weeks after all the hard work of abstinence.
It would be a real shame to give up now.

We all do know how hard it is, but you can do it.

Don't get me wrong, I do not want to give up - I just don't want to go on either!!!

I think it all boils down to my OH having the option of having chocolate this evening, and the child in me wanted it also. That said, I have not missed chocolate, and don't even want to have any!! I guess I am just a little messed up.

My LLC is the one who wanted me to do the week and half of week 1 - she even wanted me to go back to the very beginning and only have protein on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - even though I had already done that part of it - needless to say, I have still had salad with my protein these past few days.

I think I will take your advice Ali, and will start week 2 tomorrow. At the end of the day, all the knowledge I need to make RtM a success is right here in these threads.

Stick at it fella - you have to! Its worth it.

And it does get SOOOOO much more interesting as the weeks go on.

You'll get to the point when you cant believe how much you are eating and not putting on weight.

If you want choc, why not have a choc pack? Make a hot choc, a choc bar (by freezing it) or a choc muffin (in the microwave).

Another thing you can now do is mix packs and real food, I am sure there a lots of things you can do.
One thing I really like is cheesecake mess
in a bowl put, jelly, fruit, yoghurt then chopped up peanut bar, really nice. You could have a muffin with yoghurt, when you are on fruit next week, anything with chocolate custard, I love it with pears.
You will be able to have muller light then too.
It all helps.

Have always like yoghurt, so will look forward to Muller Light.

Have to say never liked the chocolate food pack - always tasted funny to me. My OH found a box of left over Christmas Chocolates, and has left them in the living room since Friday - have to say I have not been tempted in the slightest - I opened the lid to them earlier and all I saw was empty calories! Guess I am learning to be a good boy when it comes to food!!!
