Gail's diary and thoughts on her SW journey

That will be gone in no time my lovely! Remember your bumper loss last time missy!!! :)

Agree with all the others Gail, there'll be a big drop next week, so glad you had a fab time. xx

Sounds like you had a ball :D Well done on the swimming. Is this something you might consider doing regularly? Aqua aerobics is fab (and nobody can see you because you are under water lol)

No worries about your gain :) x

Not too bad at all, most of that will be water weight and very quickly gotten rid of. You'll be fine.......you are a very strong and determined lady, from what I have read in your diary. xx

You were spot on with your prediction, then!
You'll have it off in no time at all :)
xx

I'm pretty sure it won't be there for long... and worth it, I suspect!

xxx

The lbs will be gone in a few weeks time, but the memories will remain! Good Luck for this week! :)

you will lose what you have gained in no time Gail. So pleased that you had a great time. x

I don't think I can face swimming in a local pool but I will think about the possibility of going to the gym that I am a member of but haven't attended in a couple of years  at a quiet time. Shame, because I love the water :(

Hi Gail - shame about the gain, but hey what a weekend, and like others have said, it will call off in no time. Which Gordon Ramsey did you go to?

Thank you all for your faith in me. I think I'm ok with it because I had expected it. Had a good food day today (so far)

1 Muller light cheesecake yoghurt (1 syn) with raspberries and melon
100g smoked trout with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and peppers plus 50g dried rice
50g dried rice (cooked obviously !) plus quorn stroganoff (quorn, peppers, courgette, onion, mushroom) with a few spoons of v low fat fromage frais and lettuce
1 marmite cereal bar (4.5 syns)
1 chocolate special K mini breaks (5 syns)
Still have my HexB and HexA which I will probably have some babybels and a HiFi bar.

So - the weekend was fantastic.

Marcus Wareing was good - some dishes were amazing and others not so good. But a lovely experience. Rather too much wine and champagne though :p

Gordon Ramsay (hospital road) was utterly fantastic. Had almost the best pudding ever (only ever bettered by one of the puddings at the Fat Duck)- chocolate pot with chocolate mousse and blackberry coulis stuff. It was beautiful and delicious.

I don't want to post pictures of 'food porn' unless people are interested - it seems a bit wrong on a slimming site ! But I will if anyone wants (please don't feel you need to say yes).

So overall, a great weekend. Can't afford to do that for a very long time so will have my lovely memories to keep me going. I gave away my size 16 work trousers which i think was a good idea so I have no option now but to keep at it :)

Thanks so much for your support. I think I need it at the moment even though I feel positive, it really helps knowing that I have to do this because you are all believing in me. I am just taking this one day at a time so that I can build up some confidence in my ability to get 'back on' and that this works.

You are all great !!!! :D

Ooh, sounds like ur weekend was so worth the little gain, I'd lobe to see pics, altho if it's fine dining, are the portions not tiny anyway?? Therefore easy to syn away??!! Maybe not lol xxx

Yeh it's a Heston one, isn't it the one that was shut down for ages cos customers got ill??!!

SPOILER - food pics coming up !! (hope this works - I haven't attached anything here before)

If you want to spoil yourself, Fat Duck is DEFINITELY the place to do it. It was just amazing, even though when I looked at the menu, it didn't look that fantastic. However, it is a very expensive place to go and difficult to get a table. But if you want to blow loads of money on a truly mind blowing 4 hour meal, go for it. I don't regret a single morsel of it !!!

The courses are pretty small, but sadly not syn free !!!! But thanks for trying Laura :)

This is the pudding that I so loved. Sorry to anyone who didn't want to see..............................................

Wow Gail! That pud looks fantastic. When I went to Dorset recently we went to Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's Canteen in Axminster, I wasn't sure how good it would be becuase often with all the hype things can be a bit disappointing, but it wasn't- the food was very good indeed. Pudding included!
You'll be fine losing the weight again, a lot of it must be water anyway and that will shift quickly. It's a shame you feel self concious about swimming now, still, that won't be a feeling you'll have for much longer! :) xx

Yum yum Gail what a great pud pic, what is that then? It will no doubt be something whacky knowing our Heston!

Also... Marmite cereal bar?? Talk me through it Gail, talk me through it!!!

I LOVE the sound of a Marmite cereal bar! xx

Marmite cereal bar - delicious. Tastes really nutty. 93 calories, so I have assumed 4.5 syns but haven't actually looked it up. I am the cereal bar queen - and obviously now am branching out into savoury ones too ;)

Pudding - I am also a pudding queen - have you noticed that I have a sweet tooth..........:p

The picture was from Gordon Ramsay - my second ever favourite pudding. One of Hestons' puddings was the absolute favourite (lots of rhubarb), but I can post the picture of that too if you want ! The pudding pictured was described as Bitter chocolate and hazelnut cylinder with ginger mousse and blackcurrant granité. But it was much more than that. The chocolate cylinder was delicious. I'm not sure where the ginger mousse was - whether it was in the middle or on the top but inside there was something crunchy (honeycombe I think) and really amazing chocolate mousse (and possibly a caramel type mousse too). Oh, I'm dribbling just thinking about it :)

I'm not having a great week (apart from SW - nice that it's that way though !). Work was ok in that I got plenty done (because it was 'quiet') but another issue outside of work is really really stressing me out. I don't know how that's going to end either which is more stressful. However food and eating has gone pretty well. Scales this morning were showing my 5 stone shiny should be back when I weigh in on Sunday so fingers crossed. Having a green day today (and probably tomorrow as well) which is great. My fridge is still pretty full (I ordered loads of salad stuff because I ran out of salad a few weeks ago which was very bad !) so I am eating lots of salad. Which is good for my weight loss.

Am planning to make one of the things on my '5 things to try next' tonight - pasta pie. Will be a variation on the theme of (because I don't have any v low fat fromage frais left so will try with quark instead !). Fingers crossed. It is a 'pasta pie' from the SW website - pasta, eggs and quark baked in the oven which I will have with salad.

Last night I had the syn free donner kebab. It was absolutely delicious. Only problem is that because there is only 1 of me and 250g of meat, I just ate it all - oops. So not sure what to do next time I do it - get the 500g packet because then I definitely can't eat it all and will have to either freeze some of the mixture or have it in more than one sitting (but then will I have it in 2 sittings !).

Ooops, sorry for the very long post but brevity has never been one of my strengths *embarrassed*

Gail I LUUURVE Marmite! That Marmite cereal bar sounds lush :gimi: How come it's so low in calories? I'd probably prefer to use the extra 1 1/2 syns and have one of those instead of an Alpen bar!

It's a shame when "normal life" throws problems at you, but well done on not letting it affect your sw life. I think I'm becoming indoctrinated now into the sw way! :vibes: It just doesn't occur to me to cook food I shouldn't, or accept treats I shouldn't, but I still struggle a little when eating out. It's like theres another me saying "have it"!!! But this only really happens at the indian buffet restaurant we sometimes go to where you can eat as much as you like for a fixed price. So I do...and then some! :eatdrink023: I would have a field day with Heston!!! :17729:

Glad that shiny is back within your grasp hunni xx

Luv Dawn xx
