Hi all

I started The alternative day diet (JUDDD) yesterday after advice from my doctor as me and the boyfriend are hoping to try for a baby soon. I have so far lost over 3 stone with low cal since January which has surprised everyone, so now for the final couple of stone was advised to do this - she also done this. I already have one child but he was born prem, possibly due to my weight back then, he's healthy now but was tiny for a long time with various health problems then.

Found this forum while looking for JUDDD discussions so here I am lol, I have decided to daily weigh, only because I want to see how this diet works with gains and losses etc...

I am size 14 bottom half, size 12 top half, 29 inch waist, 39 inch hips, 36C boob size - I will update this next month.

Today is my down day, I've practically been walking all day and apparently burnt off 200cals doing that and only had some scrambled egg this afternoon. Early night for me as son is on school trip tomorrow and got to get him in earlier than usual - 7am! Weight this morning was 11st13lbs. Today I have had 127cals.

Well done on ur loss so far! Ive lost 4 stone this year with vlcd and ww and where about the same weight now also hoping to lose around 2 stone!

It's a funny old diet to get ur head round, I'm quite new and have had to change my cals abit this week as I wasn't having enough on my UD's.

Hi there, thank you for the welcome :) well done you on the weight loss so far! How are you finding JUDDD so far? I suppose that's another good reason to daily weigh and track on a thread like this so you can check to see if your not eating enough or too much.

I wasn't planning on weighing daily but I had to because something wasn't right, which hopefully I've fixed now, it also very interesting to see, ur suppose to get big leaps of losses and gains between UDs and DDs but mine wernt atall!!

Also some of us struggle on UDs because where not used to them, so of that's you my best advice is to plan ur day ahead so u know ull get enough cals!

Do you know if you should keep low cal on an Up day? Oh dear lol hopefully you will find your balance soon enough to see the losses, I just hope I don't see 15 stone again.

Tomorrow I am starting the 30 day shred, should I eat up those calories or should I just stick to my allowance? Trying to plan it out what to eat tomorrow, bit difficult trying to plan ahead lol though I'll try work something out.

Well I eat low fat cheese, low fat butter etc etc as that's what I'm used to but I have to have a treat to make up the cals, at the minute it's waffle and icecream lol I've found it hard to have treats though as im not used to it but I have to have them to make the cals up. I will be eating back my exercise, I only exercise on UDs.

Yeah I was thinking of only exercising on Up days too do glad to see I'm not the only one lol, oh yum I bet that's a nice treat after doing a VLCD for so long!

Ohhh yeah i couldnt possibly do exercise on a DD lol i'd pass out!!!
Haha yes it does taste good!!! I was going to make scones my new thing, but after seing they have 260calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In one scone!!!!!!!!!! No bloody wonder i put 3.5 stone on when i was pregnant, i ate these constantly lol xxx
 
Oh wow didn't realise they'd be so high in calories! My cravings used to be lucazade and baileys ice cream which my body showed the proof lol I'm guessing the scones will mow be an up day treat? Lol that's also my worry about exercising on a down day as I walk an hour or two a day anyways.

Hi and welcome, hope Juddd works for you x Have you read the Dr Johnson website? Its a really easy diet not many rules but understanding how it works helps you understand why you need to be super strict on your DD s and enjoy your UPs . Well done on your weight loss so far x
 
Yeah super high! I also used to be a huge lucozade orange lover, again ridiculous calories!!!

Scones are Absoloutly UDs lol xxx

Up day - Weigh in this morning 11st 12lb

Hmm so the weight has gone down by a pound! Though I didn't drink much water yesterday so that's a good start. Today it's been reported that women who follow a Atkins style diet will face higher risk of heart attack and stroke. To be honest that doesn't surprise me much as when I went low cal I went with the low carb high protein and sometimes I'd feel my heart pounding a lot and hard to breathe which is why I originally went to the doctor as I thought I might of strained my heart with weight loss or something lol as my son was up most the night my boyfriend decided to take him into school this morning :) but I've done all the housework already. Just need to wait for my weights and new DVD player to turn up lol

I will be doing 30 day shred tonight, don't know what I've put myself up for lol but I've set myself a challenge that once I'm closer to goal I want to start toning with the insanity programme so 30 day shred is to train me up, boyfriend thinks I'm mad.. Kind of agree!

hello. welcome. I am also new. i also do the shred, today was day 3, it is hard! i didnt really find it toooo bad on day one but woke up next day n cud hardly move n had to do the shred again, n today i found i was doing the more intense work out level one. like u i have more of an interest in toning just now although i am heavier than u and further from goal. good for u getting started on this and good luck with the weight loss xxx

Hey, I so should of started this toning up ages ago as I have a bit of a saggy belly and thighs, euros that work out is so hard isn't it? I did the shred but felt so sick and dizzy afterwards I had to eat a little bit more, legs are like jelly now.
