what are reputation comments? When it says at the top of the screen that i have a new one, i click on it and it just takes me to previous threads??????

Underneath the list of threads there's a small list of reputation comments from people

Rep points is where people reward you for making a good post. At the left hand side under your avatar you will see rep power. This increases each one hundred posts and when people rep you. When you rep others you will give them the points etc.. It is explained better in the tutorials.

when you click on them it takes you to thread that you were given "rep" on.
