Hi all

As some of you know from my previous posts I'm using CD as a tool to recover from food addiction. Luckily (and it was a complete fluke) my CDC is actually an addictions counsellor so is being a great help to me :)

Anyway today we were talking about how to deal with the "emotional hunger" which is becoming more apparent to me as I'm not physically hungry as yet on this plan. She told me about an addiction recovery technique called HALT which reminds you to consider and explore what the "hunger" is really about. Although it started out as an AA tool it is now used across all sorts of addictions e.g. smoking, sex etc.

I found this link which explains it and thought i'd share in case any of you guys might find it helpful for managing those feelings around food.
