Hazysummer's will not be fat at forty diary

    1 tsp tomato sauce (1syn)

    LUNCH
    h/m Chicken soup with leeks and carrots
    apple

    DINNER
    Cold roast chicken
    Cold new potatoes
    Green salad
    Beetroot/carrot/onion salad

    EXTRA
    Milk throughout day in tea (HEA)

    Bookclub!
    2 ½ homemade oatmeal cookies (15?)
    tortilla chips (5?)
    2 small white wine spritzers (10)
    (I made sure that all leftovers went home with someone rather than snarfing them all - could have been worse)

    Made with homemade chicken stock, glass wine (125ml between 2 so 2 syns) courgette, leeks, broccoli, onion, leftover roast chicken, lardons, (HEB) chives

    Milk throughout day in tea and coffee (HEA) 20g 70% chocolate (1.5 syns)

    TOTAL SYNS: 7 trying to be good after yesterdays detour – lets call it flexi-synning

    EXERCISE: 10 mins bike, yoga (slow) 50 mins

    EXTRA EASY Tuesday 8 Feb

    BREAKFAST
    ½ tin beans
    (was supposed to be on toast as my HEB, but it was a homemade wholemeal loaf I made with different yeast than usual – and had the texture of a brick, so I gave up after 2 bites)

    SNACKS
    Banana

    LUNCH
    Lentil soup
    Slice of ham
    0% blueberry yoghurt
    Plum

    SNACK
    Apple

    DINNER
    Lasagne made with extra veggie tomato sauce (carrots, leeks, peppers, onion, courgette blitzed in processor, and then added to passata onion, garlic, herbs), extra lean beef, and 250g ricotta 100g=100cal (12.5 syns) topped with 56g parmesan (2 HEA) and 42g mozzarella (HEA) on whole lasagne)

    Whole lasagne = 12.5 syns + 3 HEA

    I ate 1/3 lasagne = 5 syns +1 HEA

    Tomato and basil salad dressed with balsamic vinegar

    SNACK
    3 ryvita multigrain (HEB)
    10g butter (3.5)
    1 tsp marmite
    (all whizzed together with 100ml hot water and then baked for 15mins to make “twiglets” not quite crispy enough)

    Hi Hollys nan,
    I think what makes this an interesting stew is the vinegar..

    I used this recipe to work from - the red cabbage side dish is yummy and traditional - but no red cabbage here. My OH is dutch so was very happy to have this for dinner!

    oh and I forgot to say to thicken the stew I fished out some of the onions, and a few cubes of meat and whizzed them up and poured back in the pot - it works really well.

    thanks Sarah-Jayne! As I'm not working over here I have time to plan/prepare meals.

    Apart from the yoga/bollywood dance which is a class, I exercise at home. I have a large collection of yoga / pilates / bellydance / bosu dvds and downloads, as I get annoyed with the instructors if I have to do the same one everyday, and start talking back to them ;) lol.

    Because I've lived outside of the UK for the past 15 years it has always been a challenge to find classes in english or that I could follow, hence the collection!
