Hi! My name is Savanah, most ppl call me Vanah. I have been "overweight" my whole life most likely obese. Right now I am at obese class 3 with a BMI of 47.2 I weigh 250 lbs and I am 5'1" My story is I have yo-yo dieted just about every diet there is and nothing seems to work, or I give up before anything good happens. I have depression along with it which doesn't help a single thing. Why I want to loose weight well I have been with the same man since high school and he is the sweetest guy ever, he does absolutely everything for me. When we get married I want to be truly happy for me, and for him, and I don't think its possible if I don't loose this weight, I would give just about anything to do so. You would think this would be enough motivation...but it just seems like the pounds just keep packin on...so here I am looking for a lil support, maybe guide, or even just some nice ppl to talk to. Ty for your time and listening.

I have tried, south beach, right foods, and exercise, butterfly life, wii fit, binge and purge(which I know sounds horrible), weight watchers, unfortunately I am broke so I don't have many choices but, I have searched and searched for the right and wrong way to diet and tried them all, no bread extra protein, no meat all veggies, low fat, no fat, no sugar/low sugar, its exhausting. At this point I am try to just eat healthy/natural, and try to motivate my self to exercise daily.

Hiya Vanah, you sound as tho our with a terrific guy so why not do it for him too, I mean the healthy food and exercising, it is so much easier to do something together, it's also makes eating healthy so much easier and cheaper. Chuck out the Chip pan and frying pans, try and treat yourself to a Healthy fat reducing grill, I can't remember the name of it. Start a new hobby like I have, reading food labels ;)

I lost nearly 3 stone last year by dong this, I did give up certain things, like cheese, which I adore, all fried foods, I don't use butter/marg on bread preferring to make a moist sandwich with something natural like sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese etc. Even Roast Dinners can still be lovely just adjusting how you cook them, and if you really can't do without gravy make a tiny bit of Gravy granule one, it's better than nothing.

Do keep us up to date on how you get on.

mad chef

ya we have tried to do it together its tough cuz we are both over weight, and we have all the healthy cookers and we hardly ever fry or really eat bad foods we are just obese. We have tried slim fast type things too and meal replacement bars and it doesn't seem to work, lower portions, healthier food, no chips, no cake, or ice cream low fat....sometimes it just makes me want to scream and pull out my hair, ya know....

ps not sure if that worked but it is supposed to be a ticker...

Hey Vanah, welcome to minimins. Whichever way you decide is best for you, you are bound to find lots of support and advice and help here :)

what are stones?

Hi Vannah, welcome. It seems we've joined on the same evening, so, lets help each other through this rather steep learning curve.:)

Stones are an English weight measurement. There are 14 pounds in a 'Stone'. So you can multiply a stone result by 14 to give the equivalent in lbs.:)

Good luck on your journey, oh, by the way, your guy sounds terrific:)

Have you n Hubby been for a check up with your Doctors, couldn't he help you both?

:wavey:hi vanah.
nice to meet you.
this is a great forum for motivation advice and a friendly ear when you need one:)
have you thought about starting a food and activity diary for yourself(and your man)?
it can be a help to see what you are doing right, and what you might change.
also a good idea to have a read of some of the other diaries, and see what things other people are doing and eating(or not) that are helping them to shed the pounds.
i have started to gradually increase my walking(hoping i'll be able to run again one day, lol:)),and really taking the time out,to think about what are truely healthy foods.
whatever you choose to do,good luck to you.:)
