Hello~where to start

Well, I just joined today, forum is a little overwelming.

I am 29, looking to lose around 9 stone (126lbs) to get to ideal weight, although have some interim goals.

I am not really following a diet, I'm trying to make lifestyle changes, calorie counting untill I've educated myself and excercising.

How can I get the most out of the forum?

I am also considering making a blog, are they helpful?

You could start a diary thread in the calorie counting section for support.

Welcome aboard! I'm doing something similar to you in that I'm making lifestyle changes rather than following a diet, as I've never had much success with them.

I think a weight loss diary is a good idea, because it will help you chart your progress and note down what challenges you face and how you plan to overcome them. And other dieters can read it and give you advice and support! The forum is an excellent tool, especially when seeking advice on how to overcome a particular issue, or if you're interested in finding some healthy recipes.
